Very relaxing atmosphere and lovely, friendly staff. We were made to feel very welcome and the food was delicious.Too much for us to eat so we were given a bag to take home what was left :). Very clean and attractive surroundings. We were offered top ups of tea. I would recommend this coffee shop 100%

Had a very pleasant afternoon tea at Kimbos in the hotel. Haven't been to the Hillcarter for years but the lure of afternoon tea drew us in.
Staff were very attentive and helpful and the food was very well presented and scrumptious !! We couldn't eat it all and the staff offered to pack it so we could take it home to enjoy later! Inside was nice and clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend a visit for afternoon tea!!

We stayed here for one night only, which was quite enough. The hotel itself and the room were fine - clean and comfortable, but the noise from the street was deafening. The hotel does tell you that on a Friday and Saturday noise can be heard from the street and the nightclub until around 4am - but the noise went on way past 5am and it was so loud we didnt get a wink of sleep. Even though it was warn we had the windows closed but the single glazed windows didn't provide an noise reduction. It is a shame because this could be a nice hotel Maybe they should consider new windows. We were on the third floor so I pity anyone on the first floor. Not recommended on a weekend.

Room Tip: A room at the rear will probably be quieter.

Absolutely happy with everything! Starting from quick reservation over the phone, room exactly as described, big, bright, comfy and clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast in rooftop room with great view. Perfect value for money! One of the best 3 star hotels I visited in Britain.

Recently under new ownership and receiving some investment, new layout, decor etc. Hopefully this will remain a superb location for meeting and making freinds of a long standing nature. Not just fellow clientelle but staff alike, they are a pretty dedicated bunch, it would be wrong to single out an individual, for the simple reason they work as a team and each as an individual makes you feel welcome when entering the establishment, Long may it continue.

Room Tip: Request a quiet room on booking if on a weekend, staff will do what they can to accomodate

Nice clean and well appointed. On arrival we were asked to read a document that stated there was a night club underneath and it was quite rudely pointed out that smoking in a room would attract an automatic £100 cleaning fee. Then it moved onto the car parking and what we could and could not do. It was not quite the welcome I was expecting. It was too corporate for such a beautiful building. Luckily the night club was not open that night and the night staff were really friendly and polite, but really I have paid a decent amount of money and felt it really was their responsibility to point these things out before booking, and not expect guests to accept these "problems" when checking in when you can't do anything about it! Otherwise as I said, clean and comfortable rooms but better customer service would not go amiss!
