“Great dinner and b & b after”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

Booked a one night getaway through a KGB deal and treated ourselves to a 3 course dinner from the a la carte menu, which was excellent. The room was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. I would have awarded a higher score if the room had been a bit more up to date. Furnishings were a bit worn and the room and bathroom could have done with a bit of a makeover but nevertheless represented great value for money.

The Hardwicke excels in customer relations and satisfaction. The staff make everyone very welcome and are very friendly in their approach. The food is second to none. My sister stayed at the hotel on a holiday from Australia and rated her stay as excellent in every respect. The rooming staff and dining room staff were extremely helpful and efficient.
The location of the hotel is such that many, many places of interest are available within a very short journey time.

Room Tip: The superior rooms are really superior.

Can't comment on the accommodation but the cavery is fabulous. We've eaten there three times recently and loved it. We bought a Groupon deal twice (two people for £10) but it was so delicious we paid full price on the third occasion. More than worth it - great quality - huge portion. Usually it's one or the other. Friendly staff. We'll be back.

I treat my Nanna for Afternoon Tea and we both thought it was a lovely experience. The Tea kept flowing and as nice and hot. The food itself was nice and although it didn't leave you feeling very full, the whole point of afternoon tea is a light meal anyway. There was a very nice singer choosing to sing slow easy listening songs. Not too loud, however we were sat near to the bottom end of the room, I guess if we were sat closer, the music may have been a tad loud. That being said, I will without doubt be booking another afternoon tea at Harwick Hall very soon (again with my Nanna)

thank you for a lovely afternoon :)

We visited yesterday with a Groupon for Carvery for 2 with a Latte. Lovely! Plenty of choice of food on offer - we were offered not only carvery but also daily specials. We opted for the Carvery and enjoyed it. No complaints. We opted for a dessert and chose cheesecake - which came with fresh fruit - it was divine. Staff were lovely. The ladies working on the food serving area and bar were very friendly and approachable. The latte's were lovely too. We will definately be returning. Lovely looking building and nice relaxed atmosphere inside.

I love my afternoon tea so my partner and I wanted to experience what they had to offer. When we arrived, we were showed to the room and offered a glass of bubby each. The bubby was fruity and we didn't wait long before our food came. On the tray there were 4 different sandwiches each, a fruit scone each which I found under cooked as the dough was still doughy. Also 4 different small cakes each which we found a bit boring.

We had to wait 5mins before we were offered any tea/coffee, thank god for the glass of bubby. Yet another 10 mins for another refills to our cups, after being to a few afternoon tea's I found this odd. Wouldn't it been better to leave a pot of tea at the table for the customers to enjoy? Rather than having to wait each time you've drank your cup surely. We were very disappointed and will not be going back here for the afternoon tea.

We went for a dinner at Hardwicke Hall on Saturday night, on arrival the grounds looked lovely and the building itself looked very imposing. The food was very nice however the was a big mix up with food and we had to ask for things that we had ordered as extras. The inside was quite old fashioned. I know that it is trying to look historic but there is historic and then there is old fashioned. The walls were clad in dark oak panels which did make it seem quite dark and gloomy and there wasn't many signs about where everything was and the dark little corridors weren't the most appealing of things.
