We thought we would eat at the Dovey Inn as the menu looked good. We overlooked the dirty interior and grubby decor and chose our table. Flies were crawling everywhere and the table was sticky and when we collected our menus they were covered in food and were disgusting. Then came time to order. The staff were disinterested and unfriendly and wouldnt take a £50 as it was against the company principle or some rubbish but even so we still thought we would give them a chance and ordered drinks while we looked through the sticky menu which I was told to go and get out of a drawer myself. The red wine tasted vaguely of vinegar and water mixed but the lager was decent. We chose our food only to be told curtly that they didnt serve food before 6pm. This was 5.50pm. A couple of minutes later they were happily taking the order of another family. Needless to say we left without paying any further money to them for food which by this time we could tell would be terrible and inedible. This pub was dirty, shabby, staffed by incompetent kids who werent interested in serving anyone and should be avoided. I wouldnt even have given it a star at all if I could avoid it. It really is the worst pub we have ever visited. AVOID if you like to eat in clean, pleasant surroundings and be served by friendly staff.

Firstly on arrival we were greated by very helpful, happy, accommodating staff. Our room was immaculate and very spacious and very modern. Plenty of space and storage, very clean and comfortable. Absolutely amazing view. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and again very clean and service was very attentative and swift.
Breakfast was huge, cooked fresh to order and top notch.
I would highly recommend a stay at the Dovey Inn. Everything was perfect. Will definitely come back thank you.

We lunched here with our daughter on Friday 10th of May and were a little disappointed. Maybe the weather did not help but the place was very quiet and we saw more staff than customers. The atmosphere was distinctly lacking and the food although it sounded appealing on the menu was nothing special, maybe we were just unlucky. We would visit againwhen are in Aberdovey to give the place another chance.

We had a friendly reception, and were shown up to a decent size of room with an excellent view our over the Dovey estuary. The room was comfortably furnished with all mod cons, and exceptionally well soundproofed so that sleep was undisturbed by noises from the bar or from outside.

Our evening meal was passable: tasty baked fish, good chips but overcooked vegetables accompanied by adequate wine and an excellent pint of bitter. We were more than happy with our full British breakfast including all the essentials and a generous cafetiere of fresh coffee.

Room Tip: Our room on the second floor front had excellent views of the estuary, and very quiet in spite of be...

Went to the dovey for a meal with my family. What a mistake, we should have gone to the brit. It was quite a quiet evening with oviosly too much staff on as they were all stood arownd the bar chatting about theyr manager and who he was going to shag next! It sounded like the manager had already had his way with 2 of the girls! Although this was entertaining to hear it really put us off eating so we didnt bother. As for the manager- he never seems to make an appearance. Will not be returning- brains hav gone very down hill

Room Tip: Go to the pub next door! The briannia

Went here with family for a few ales on our last night in Wales.
The place was warm and cosy and tastefully decorated, what's more is that it's dog friendly :)

Really decent selection of ales on tap as well as wine and other drinks!

Would come again :)

We ordered Scampi and when it evenyually came the outside was very crisp and the centre was cold which gave me the impression that it had been cooked in very hot oil. On telling the manager he just said he would pass the comment on to the kitchen.
