Visited the Penhelig Arms on our first afternoon in Aberdovey, when we first went in about 5:30 on Friday aft all the tables in the pub had reserved on so we went to sit in the reception area with our drinks. We decided that we were hungry and I asked if there was any tables free, the male behind the bar who is presume was the manager was extremely helpful and have us one of the reserved tables as they were not due in until later.
The good was excellent, I had steak and chips and my husband had fish chips and peas. My son who is 11 wanted egg and chips which was no problem even thou was not on the menu. This washed down with a couple of ciders was very pleasant. Make sure you book in advance thou in summer months.
