“Short Family Break- Perfect!”
Reviewed 1 August 2012

We have just returned from a 3 day family break staying at The Lookout. We stayed in the Lower Deck apartment which was excellent. We have two young children and a travel cot and high chair were provided free of charge. I would 100% recommend staying here, you walk across the road to the beach and stroll up the sea front for 5 minutes and come to a children's play area, just perfect!

Room Tip: Staying in the Lower Deck with young children worked well as not too many stairs to climb and the ch...

Aberdyfi, a picturesque fishing village turned upmarket holiday destination, was our favourite seaside treat for a long time. It is small enough to feel at home, away from crowds, but big enough to be interesting with small shops, restaurants and a few friendly pubs. Walking on the miles of pristine, sandy beaches, being part of the dramatic and soothing rhythm of the ebb and flow of the waters where the sea meets the river Dovey is relaxing in any weather. (Let alone swimming and playing in the water in the Summer).
We chose The Lookout for its location: right on the beach for a family celebration with our grown up children. We rented all 3 apartments so I can say: they are upmarket, all lovingly designed and newly furnished with the best quality beds etc. The Lookout is the most comfortable place we ever stayed. The owners are very hospitable and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the glow of it will last for a long time and we can't wait to return.

I'd not been to Aberdovey since 1960 and it's just as good now as then. We booked this at short notice to show our 10 y/o American grandson a bit of seaside and for me to return to the Outward Bound Sea School, and we loved it. We did too. Lovely accommodation, beautiful view, good local restaurants and plenty to do. It rained a bit and shone a bit. Steam trains, golf courses, walks, fishing. What more!?

Room Tip: A bit of a climb to 'The Crows-nest' if you've got dodgy legs! But worth it.

4 nights in the Lower Deck- really comfortable, a wonderful sea view and tremendous personal attention from Jules. Just a shame that most of my stay coincided with some of the worst weather of the year! (Note - don't park directly under one of the streetlights across the road unless you want your car covered in seagull ****...)

Spent last weekend in the crows Nest with our two grandchildren. We all loved it and the secret bunk room was a huge success with our youngsters. We all want to return, incredible views, super quality, clean accommodation with many special touches(fresh flowers filling the space with the smell of honeysuckle & roses) .Beautiful towels & toiletries, we could go on!
Jules & Lisa are warm & friendly hosts & you feel that nothing is too much trouble. We think we need to try each apartment to allow us to keep returning.
Look at the website & imagine yourself there!

The Lower Deck accommodation was just perfect - well equipped accommodation to a high standard. Views over the estuary, beach and out to sea but at the same time in the centre of Aberdovey. We were two adults and two young children and it worked well. Its a bright and relaxing space. Great hosts too - nothing was too much trouble.

We first met Lisa and Jules about 8 years ago when we stayed in Aberdovey for the first time. Since then we have returned many times as they are so friendly and accomodating. We recently stayed at the Lookout for our honeymoon and they couldn't have made the stay any more special, the attention to detail is second to none. The views are fantastic and the local people are amazing. Aberdovey is one of our favorite respites and the Lookout is deffinately our favorite place to stay. Looking forward to our next stay and many more to come. Great little shop too, you two are the best.
