Just popped in for some lunch during our week's holiday in Wales. Sat in the front bar with the dog and felt a little uncomfortable with the few regulars there at the bar who weren't at all welcoming or chatty. Had baguettes and chips which were lovely and the beer and wine was good.

We have been holidaying in Aberdovey for a great many years and have eaten at the Britannia Inn both at lunch times and for evening meals. The food is always excellent value and beautifully cooked and well presented. The upstairs lookout bar has been refurbished over the last few years and has been really well done and is a very comfortable place to eat. The staff have always been welcoming and friendly, I don't think the owner would accept anything less! Since adding a B & B service we had been promising ourselves an overnight stay, so this year instead of going home from our holiday we decided to book into the 'Brit' We were not disappointed. We had the room overlooking the estuary. This is a lovely room, very nicely decorated with large kingsize bed, large couch, plenty of cupboard and drawer space, TV. and mini bar. The shower room/toilet is very smart and there was a lovely gift box of toiletries which you were invited to take home with you. Bottled water was also provided. Breakfast was delicious, with a choice of cereals, fruit salad and fruit juices followed by a full Welsh breakfast or any combination of your choice with as much toast and jam as you liked and tea and coffee. We will certainly be going back for more of the same.

We spent a very pleasant hour on the balcony of the Britannia enjoying the view across the estuary. Recommended for spending a while chilling out with a drink assuming you can get a seat/table actually on the balcony.

Cracking bank holiday weather, no where better to while away the afternoon than the Britannia balcony. Watch the world go by, eat some good food, have a couple of beers, and enjoy excellent service from Christine and the upstairs team. We'll be back in a flash !!

We had a gorgeous meal at this restaurant in Aberdovey. The setting was amazing, my partner let me sit with the window view and during our meal I witnessed the sun turn to dark. It was a gem of a night with amazing food and excellent service. My partner didn't stop talking about his meal ( Cajun chicken with dips) all weekend. We love Aberdovey and will certainly take friends for a meal here. We'll be back as they say!!!

Just back from a weekend away in Aberdovey staying at the Britannia Inn. What a wonderful place. Traditional Pub with fantastic rooms, wonderful food and lovely staff. We didn't book a sea view room but our room still had a fantastic view of the sea. Rooms are modern and clean with fantastic bathrooms. The heated mirror was wonderful! Dinner and breakfast were both fantastic value for money. No silly little portions here! We had fresh fish which was the best fish we've had in ages. All the staff are lovely too. Keep up the good work. Hopefully see you again next year!

The four of us had been staying in Aberdyfi for a few days and ended up booking an evening meal at the Brit, a popular eatery in the resort. We weren't disappointed -- lots of good fish suppers, attentive service and not to forget where the Britannia is - right on the seafront with views over the Dovey estuary - you can sit out on the terrace whilst waiting for your meal - bliss!

We had a perfectly good dinner, but there was a glitch when one of our party got the wrong pudding. However, we pointed this out and the price was deducted from our bill with no quibbles. Everyone was really friendly in keeping with the resort - have been there many times and it's one of my favourite places - no amusement arcades or fairgrounds, just good clean fun!
