We were sitting in the sun on the balcony when unbelievably we was asked to finish our drinks downstairs or across the road. They explained that it closes at 3 pm even though it was mid august. Several people walked out saying that they would never return.
I asked the manager why we could not remain on the balcony. He said he had no one to serve upstairs. I was quite prepared to drink there and walk downstairs to the bar downstairs but he insisted and added "if you don't like it your free to drink elsewhere". What an obnoxious attitude, so we did leave and we will also never return.

Walked Into the pub and felt like being told off at school after being confronted with a rather rude lady saying can I help you (not politely) then the drinks order was wrong.....twice the food was not worth the money and the attitude of the staff all bar one is disgusting. The food was dumped on our table, no sauces were offered we had to chase a member of staff to get them and the rude woman who yelled at us spent the whole meal shouting across the restaraunt to other customers. Not child friendly we had to leave our prams unattended on the landing out of sight even though there was plenty of room inside for them!! Will defiantly not recommend and will definately not come again!!!

Sat outside on the terrace with glorious views over the estury. Service was somewhat brusque. Ordered the crab salad - crab was excellent but the salad the most unappetising and boring pile of leaves I have encountered in a long time - with no dressing but a strip of cucmber peel added for good measure! The home made pie was declared very good as were the accompanying vegetables and potatoes.

friday evening stroll down to the penhelig arms it was a lovely hot evening wasnt to busy at the time.,very enjoyable.returned back to an empty bar at the britannia inn usualy always a good welcome.but returned to a stressed out barman, with every empty table and bar litterd with dirty glasses,we stayed and had three drinks, moved on to the dovey. had one drink, returned back to our favourite the britt time being ten past eleven the bar was full with alot of drinkers outside
..to be told that last orders had been called at ten forty five.we walked in to a very sombre atmosphere with every one in the bar having empty glasses ,thinking is this a just a wind up..not so.not a start to our holiday weekend, suggest the barman takes a course in people skills.

Four nights at this Olde Coaching Inn. Our room #2 was very comfortable. good size and good size bathroom/en-suite. Modern and very clean well prepared each night. The staff friendly and helpful, food top class. Eat in three nights, All well prepared and presented. Can recommend the Orange Almond cake. This is a working pub / restaurant but we never heard a sound up in our room. Can recommend. Down side my wife could not look in a mirror to dry hair with hair drier plugged in. Missed breakfast last morning due to a timing mix up. Manager was very apologetic. Will stay again as Aberdovey is a nice little seaside village.
