We visited this part of Wales for a 3 night stay with our family to celebrate my 70th Birthday. We chose the hotel for its amenities and location - golf for me and my son in law and an indoor pool for us all to enjoy especially our twin 5 year old granddaughters.
What a success. The hotel and staff were all fantastic and the food and restaurant service were all we had hoped. We had room 401 and the family 403 - both very large and well presented with super views. Aberdovey has a wonderful beach with plenty of opportunity to explore and have fun - crabbing from the harbour wall is highly recommended for the young and young at heart! It is very easy to see why people return to The Trefeddian time and time again - we will be joining them!

Room Tip: Fourth floor rooms have the best views and are modern and bright

A return visit for us and every bit as good as we remembered, stayed in room 401 which was large and very well furnished, beautiful views of the beach, it has a good bathroom with separate shower.
Breakfast is excellent with a large choice of food, dinner is equally as good, the service is excellent and maybe our only grumble would be that you feel a bit rushed at dinner because they are so quick to bring the courses out to you!
A good indoor pool with separate jacuzzi plus games rooms (which we did not use), we did enjoy the outdoor putting at the front of the hotel.
Easy walk to the beach across the sand dunes and into Aberdovey.
Fabulous time will be back.

I have stayed at the Trefeddian Hotel many times and have always found the rooms, food and service excellent. However on my recent visit small incidents indicated a slip in standards. After ordering tea and biscuits for four we expected the home made shortbread biscuits however we were given a plate with four unopened packets of biscuits similar to the ones supplied in the bedrooms. On another occasion after ordering four coffees they came with only two chocolates, when we asked for two more a lady arrived with two more clutched in her hand. Not exactly what we expected.
These comments may seem petty but these actions are not what we expected at the Trefeddian.

Our first visit for a few years, but it is still a great hotel. The staff provide impeccable service and the rooms are excellent. Ours was a superior room on the fourth floor, which has comfortable settees and armchairs as well as the beds. The Trefeddian has a really good record for its cuisine and it did not disappoint. Breakfast has everything you could wish for and the five course dinners are of a very high standard. The clientele tend to be elderly and enjoy their creature comforts, so the Trefeddian does not disappoint. This is an old fashioned famous lu hotel of the very best. Many guests return year after year.

Room Tip: Fourth floor has wonderful views of the sea and superior rooms.

We lunched here with friends who live locally there. They brought us here for the combination of good food and the wonderful setting overlooking the sea just north of Aberdovey so we had the benefit of countryside as well. The quality of the food and the service matched the setting.

Stayed: December 2016
