When we are allowed out to play from our own hospitality business an eagerly awaited trip to Aberdovey certainly blows the cobwebs away and after a bracing walk along the golden sands our first port of call is always Y Bwtri Blasus.
Over the years we have been many times and this place never disappoints. The staff are just so cheerful and nothing seems to be too much trouble - Nicola, the owner, is ever smiling and her young staff are ever attentive. If you are lucky to get a window table it is a great spot to relax and watch the good folk of Aberdovey walk by - we know many and invariably they wave - all know Nicola and all wave! Sure it can be busy in the summer with all the extra tourists and you have to wait a tad - but hey who cares, that's the charm of it all.
On many a cold winter's day we have been in for a warming coffee and tea and cake and have also enjoyed many a lunch here often ending with one of the delicious desserts.
Y Bwtri Blasus offer many a take away goodie and once they made up a mouth watering picnic for us which we greatly enjoyed as we joined our friends who come up every year from London for the summer down on the beach.
So do give this place a try - if you see through the window that all the tables are full just go and look round the village for half an hour and when you return you should be lucky - who knows you could have ours!

Excellent choice of snacks, really good soup and sandwiches. Friendly obliging staff, a nice little place to watch the world go by whilst enjoying a bite to eat.

The 'blonde' older woman (owner?) was far from welcoming as we had a 1 yr old baby with us and asked if a high chair was available. 'No!' she snapped, without a smile or apology. We walked on but decided the food lhad ooked quite good so returned and took a table in the window. We had a nice ham and cheese platter and asked for 3 glasses of tap water. After eating I expected to pay £8.25 x 3 (£24.75) but was surprised when the miserable woman said the total was £25.45. I thought she'd added up incorrectly but was told a glass of tap water is 20p. To be fair it is on the menu as such but I have never had to pay for tap water before in a restaurant. Most restaurants in Europe automatically put water on the table.
The foods ok but the woman is miserable so if you can find somewhere else to eat then do so!

A cosy, friendly place to eat, obviously popular with locals. Not a big choice of food, but a good choice of drinks.

After being disappointed with the full breakfast (sausages very dried out) early in the week we decided to give it another try a couple of days later, this time the bacon must have joined the sausages on the 'keep warm' plate and all
were totally dried out, the beans, mushrooms and egg had to come to the rescue, but only to give an average breakfast overall.
