“Just perfect!”
Reviewed 26 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

It was our second visit to Glan y Morfa which is an exquisite farmhouse with stunning views of the Dyfi Estuary. There was plenty of room for us all (6 adults and 1 child) and never once found that we were under each other’s feet. We never used the dining room but preferred to all eat in the large, well-equipped kitchen. We did have fish and chips from Hennighan's Top Shop in Machynlleth, which we can highly recommend.

We’d often sit outside and try and spot the Ospreys on their nest. Saw lots of kites, buzzards and herons as well as swifts and swallows. If you love watching kites, we would definitely recommend the Red Kite Feeding Station at Bwlch Nant Yr Arian Visitor Centre.

We all absolutely loved the remoteness of the property and the peace and quiet. It definitely recharges the batteries!!

If you want a property in a remote location with stunning views, then this is just perfect.

Can’t wait to go back but likely to be year after next.

So glad you had a good holiday. You certainly had some amazing weather. I'm not a bird watcher, but I always feel I should recognise more of them especially in the evening when they seem to swoop and dive over the garden. We hope you will come again - it's lovely when guests return.

“Beautifully appointed and located cottage”
Reviewed 4 June 2018 for a stay in May 2018

What a wonderful place to stay! My partner and I took our 4 children to Glan-y-Morfa for the half term break, and the cottage easily accommodated all of us. There was plenty of space to spread out and we never felt as if we were on top of each other. The kitchen had everything we needed to be able to cater for ourselves each evening, which we prefer to do rather that eat out. We always ate at the generously sized kitchen table (the dining room table had been given over to boardgames by the children).

The peace and quiet of the surrounding area was perfect - all we could hear was birdsong and sheep. The track down to the cottage was well maintained (the final section is a little steep but easily navigated), and the directions provided by the owner were clear and easy to follow. The views from the cottage are stunning - it was wonderful to be able to take the time to sit and take it all in.

Thank you for a lovely holiday - we'd love to return in the future.

“Relaxed and rejuvinated!”
Reviewed 3 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I felt instantly at home I met my parents here and we had an amazing stay and I would highly recommend. Stunning views in a wonderful location to explore this area of Wales. The house was really relaxed with excellent facilities! I felt as soon as I hit the first gate excited and when I got to the hues I was blown aways.

Aberdovey is beautiful and was so friendly- perfect dog walking on the beach. Machynelleth was also lovely to visit to explore some antique shops. Although it was hard to tear us away from the house. We had every intention to eat out sometimes but the weather was so glorious that we felt we had to take advantage of eating in the garden and watching the stars go down with wine. This farmhouse is very special! I cannot wait to visit again!

I'm so glad you all had such a good time. We have just got back from a long weekend ourselves and did pretty much the same as you and your family. Can't believe we were sitting in front of the Chimenea looking at the stars in October. Always happy when people want to come back.

“A great property in a very special place”
Reviewed 16 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Stunning views, sheltered from the winds and a natural sun trap, when they built this cottage they choose really well. Everything inside was great but actually it is what happens outside which makes this a very special place. Lie on the your back on the grass of a warm Welsh hillside and marvel at nature at its finest.

Liked best: How the cottage fits into the landscape and all the nature around it

We are delighted that you loved the farmhouse as much as we do. When the sun shines and you look over the estuary listening to the birds, there really isn't much better. Even when the weather is foul it's a very special place. Hope to see you again soon.

“A beautiful, peaceful location..good for the soul!”
Reviewed 13 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We felt at home straight away in Glan-y-Morfa. It was great to get away from street lights and the noise of traffic and instead, listen to beautiful birdsong and the bleating of sheep. We particularly enjoyed cooking and eating in the lovely kitchen. The only thing it lacked was a plastic dish for the baby which we forgot to take, so we had to keep a beady eye on him at mealtimes to ensure the crockery stayed in tact! However, the house is extremely well-equipped; it was so nice to load up the dishwasher and still have lots of crockery and cutlery to use. Even though we had done a big shop before we arrived, it was a lovely touch to have so many basics available in the kitchen such as herbs, stock cubes etc. We also very much appreciated the welcome goodies of wine, bread, butter, jam and eggs which we thought was very generous. Thank you.We had lots of visits over the fields to Plas Garth where the grand children really enjoyed the play area, table tennis, swimming etc. We were very impressed by the staff there...so friendly! Looking forward to returning to this lovely place.

We really appreciate your lovely review and feedback. We will definitely get a few plastic bowls and plates for babies and toddlers, which is something we wouldn't think of as ours is well passed that stage! So thank you for that idea. We look forward to welcoming you again.
