“Disappointed”
Reviewed 10 December 2011

We are six ladies who stayed at the Marine Court Hotel in early December to enjoy a Christmas Pary night. The hotel itself although adequately placed looking over the marina is dated and could do with some refurbishment. Our rooms were on the second but one of the rooms developed and blocked sink and 2 members of our group had to be moved to another room. They were eventually moved to the 4th floor as a replacement room offered on the second floor had a bad smell eminating from the bathroom. Our christmas party night was very enjoyable with good food and entertainment. However at the end of the night we asked if there was a residents lounge and were told that we could move into Nelsons Bar and were advised to go upstairs to enjoy the view and finish off our drinks which we duly did. On entering the Bar we were accosted by a member of the bar/reception staff who insisted on seeing our room keys to ensure we were residents. Another staff member then came up to check again that we had room keys and to say that were must move downwstairs where they could keep an eye on us. Because of their aggressive attitude we asked to see a manager and when the manager appeared our explanation was accepted and we were allowed to finish our drinks. We tried not to let this spoil what was essentially a great stay in the Marine Court but I do think that some staff members would benefit from a refresher course in customer care.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 4th floor

Myself and 29 other friends had our Christmas Night Party in the hotel and , we all agreed it was made fabulous by the terrific food, the staff who made sure we wanted for nothing and even added that little bit extra and, brilliant value for money. The atmosphere just made our party swing and so a big thankyou to all - see you again soon. ,

My family stayed at the Marine Court while attending a Engagement Party, the staff were very pleasant and service was excellent. The leisure facilities are fantastic, my kids loved the pool. We were made to feel very welcome and the rates are very reasonable. The food was delicious, could not fault the hotel or staff at all. Highly recommeded!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Killaire Suite on Floor 3, very good sized room for a family.

Lovely hotel, excellent helpful staff. Stayed as part of a deal offer in the honeymoon suite. Nicest room I have ever stayed in! Fab views over the marina. Lovely pubs close by. Staff really friendly and nice. Would recommend.

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the past four years and it is my most favorite place to stay.
From the minute you come in the door the staff are fabulous, they smile and make sure you have evcerything you want and explain everything to you that you might want to know.
The rooms are so comfy with BIG COMFY beds and lots of pillows! The bathrooms are large and perfectly stocked.
You have access to the pool and gym with it's added steam room and jaccuzzi.
The food never dissapoints and the restaraunt and bar staff always do everything you can, they run to help you if you need anything and are very happy to arrainge things off menu for you.
Stay here alone or with your family and you will leave happy well fed and very rested.
It should be a four star hotel, dont understand why it is not.

Stayed at the hotel for over 2 weeks, different room each week. Room 305 was absolutely lovely, great view, big bed, lots of space, very modern bathroom. Normal double room was okay, maybe a little bit dated and bathroom definitely required some tlc. Staff extremely friendly, helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant needs sone improvement, very poor breakfast compering to other hotels I've stayed at, dinner menu bit '70, big portions but everything really heavy, no healthier options, but again, restaurant staff was amazing

We stayed 17 nights in this hotel during June / July 2011. Initially we were allocated a room at the rear which was large, clean, comfortable and very quiet. We had breakfast each day and dinner several times during our stay. All food was plentiful, of a high quality and well presented by efficient and courteous staff. My husband used the swimming pool each day and found it to be an enjoyable and pleasant experience. During our stay I spoke to several wedding parties and all were full of praise in which the hotel staff organized their special day. Our last two nights staff upgraded us to a suite which was thoughtful and much appreciated. This is an excellent well managed hotel with its biggest asset being the wonderful staff.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear and on a high floor will be quiet at weekends but you will not have the view.
