“Shame about the noise !!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013

We stayed at Marine Court for Saturday and Sunday night. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, whether it was staff in the reception, leisure centre, restaurant or bar....nothing was too much travel and all would go out of their way to enquire how you were and all ok. I have to say that all the staff are the friendliest and most polite I have ever come across.

The rooms are clean, well presented and larger than a number of other hotels I've stayed in. The food in the restaurant was superb and the offer of 2 courses and a bottle of wine for £30 is well worth it and would recommend. We used the swimming facilities and whilst the pool is small it meets your needs for a short stay.

The main problem we encountered was the noise......after setting off from home at 3.30am to get a flight I really wanted a good nights sleep. We were situated on the 3rd floor directly above the nightclub and the noise on Saturday night was horrendous and went on until 1am along with noise from the Christmas party night it was impossible to get to sleep until the early hours. We mentioned this to reception and requested to be moved for the second night, which the hotel did but they did advise it would be a lot quieter on a Sunday and it is quite normal for this problem on a Saturday.

I would certainly recommend this hotel but if not you want a good nights sleep on a Saturday night !!

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms overlooking the alley way to the side of hotel if staying on a Saturday night as...

Stayed here for two nights, great location on the marina. We stayed on fourth floor so had beautiful views. Ate in restaurant and bar both great tasting and value for money. Breakfast was lovely and included in price. Husband used gym and spa which he recommended. Huge beds which were so comfortable, and large bedrooms. Very clean throughout, would definitely stay again!

Went for a one night stay mid-week.The food was good, the room clean and extra for marina view was worth it.Staff where without exception excellent and very friendly and polite, well above average the only down point was the noise and swearing outside on the street. It went on until 3am so i didn't get much sleep ! The breakfast was excellent so it is well worth a visit and i would go back

Room Tip: Ask for a marina view

My husband and I stayed Sat 16th November 2013. We checked in with a lovely lady at reception and found our room on the 4th floor. Our standard room was spacious and absolutely spotless !!! i was well impressed !!!!. Our meal in Nelson's Restaurant was delicious, we had Baked Steak, it was really tender and very tasty. All of the restaurant staff were friendly and courteous, there was also a singer in the restaurant who sang all the old favourites which we thoroughly enjoyed. Yes we could hear the music from the night club in our room, but we were made aware of this when we booked. Really!!! when you have 4 children you can block out any noise!! Seriously! It didn't annoy us in the least!!! We had a lovely relaxing time in a lovely hotel looked after by lovely staff. A Big thank you to everyone!! I would recommend this hotel, and we will certainly be back.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less A/C unit noise.

The front off house in this restaurant could do with learning some manors shes so ignorant. Was here with a large group off girls last night. When we asked for a diff menu (not 4 course) it was like she was doing us a favour by letting us see it. I asked for vinegar & mayo and she walked off mid sentence and had to step back to hear me again. So rude..!! The other waitress who worked along side her was lovely couldnt do enough to help (I think vivienne) maybe she shouId be front off house..!!! Ill also mention the lay out off our tables for a hen night we'd have liked all together or at least close but they werent 6 off us were at another table so we didnt feel like we were part of the party I asked why they were set like this her tone was horrible I actually said I dont think there is any need for your attitude. I had my wedding here 2 yrs ago & it was abs fab im so glad she wasnt our waitress that day . Any way Rant over had a gr8 night in calico jacks :))))

Firstly I would like to say what a nice place Bangor is and this hotel overlooks the harbour. The staff are really nice and friendly and the rooms spacious and clean. This is the 2nd time I've stayed here and would definitely recommend it to others. I've only ever had breakfast here which is first class and brought to your table. This is a refreshing change from those dreadful toast machines and Luke warm buffet style things

There is also a nice swimming pool with steam room and both seem well looked after
