Just back from another great stay with Chris and Jenny on our trip home to Bangor from Scotland. Island View room has such a comfortable bed and a superb view over Ballyholme Bay. Breakfast is top class with fresh fruits and cereals and a cooked breakfast which cannot be bettered. Thanks again!

Really nice room, with great facilities! Hot chocolate and Tayto's as well as you usual tea and coffee. Lovely spacious bathroom - had a slight problem with the toilet, but let Chris know and it was sorted straight away. Really lovely location, just off the beach with a gorgeous view from our room. Bangor was much nicer than some of the other large towns nearby in NI, lots of little pubs and restaurants and Chris was only too happy to point us in the right direction of where to go! Breakfast was to die for so much so that we ate soooooo much of it, it lasted us through till dinner! Thank You for making our stay in NI so enjoyable, will definitely stay here again if we return to NI!

Room Tip: We Emailed Chris and Jenny prior as my Partner is very tall and needed a bed with no foot board, the...

This is the place to go. I would definitely recommend the superior rooms in order to enjoy the breathtaking sea view. I also have to say that I would travel to Cairn Bay Lodge even if it were just to have breakfast... this is always an incredible feast! Brilliant location and very caring tenants!

Room Tip: Go Superior!

We have stayed for one night in June this year. Just after arrival we regret why just one night. Everything we have liked: the location, the cozy room, the house with its many touches (it's like a museum!), the breakfast... just all! Thank you so much for devoting all your time to make our stay so enjoyable.

This was our first trip to Cairn Bay Lodge and it was highly recommended by family who had stayed there previously. My husband and I stayed in the Ballyhome Bay Suite, while our teenage daughters shared the Balcony Suite. From the moment of our arrival, we were swept away by the charm of the lodge and the hospitality of the hosts, Chris and Jenny and their staff. To say that we fell in love with the place is an understatement! Every room has a unique character and charm, a step-back in time, whimsical feel. The breakfast room featured a magnificent array of fruits, cheeses, cereals, breads, juices and teas, and then there was the individually "cooked-to-order" hot breakfasts with a variety to rival and indeed surpass some of the hotels I have stayed in on four continents. Every night a delicious homemade cake is placed for guests to share, with small jugs of milk, hot chocolate and sweets for a nightly private indulgence in your room. It is indeed a special place that we hope to revisit and to compared it with the feel of the larger, modern and less personal establishments is unjust. We felt like we were visiting friends and cannot wait to do so again.

Room Tip: The front rooms have a magnificent view of the bay.

This was our 2nd visit to Cairn Bay, this time with our 9 month old son and as with last time it was great, the room was spacious with a stunning view out over the bay, plenty of room for the crib that was supplied and immaculately clean.
The breakfast was superb and it was no trouble for them to assist with anything we required for the baby.

Chris and Jenny were very welcoming and we felt very comfortable and relaxed during our stay and we will be back.

I don't normally book b&b and at £120 for one night, one adult two kids. It seemed high. But the website looked fab and the location to die for... Ballyhome is one of the most beautiful places. However our room overlooked a hedge to the side and a tiny window to the back overlooking the car park and garden. The room was Ok .. Previous reviews mentions bathrobes etc ..nope none of that. You have to go to the hallway to get milk for tea. There were three of us and two bath towels, two cups etc. The house is quirky... the stunning views are at the front where there is a guest lounge, but wouldn't it be lovely to put the breakfast room there ? breakfast was the most disappointing affair ever. I fly to Nireland 3 times a year, and breakfast is always a wonderful affair. Ignore the website .. It was really not good. One round of toast each, you have to ask for more. One tiny sausage, no bacon, no beans, mushrooms, a quarter of a tomato and hard stale potato bread and the smallest piece of soda bread ever. Disgraceful . I have read the rave reviews, they must have stayed in a different place to us. To top it all, the kitchen had a buzzer hat bounced through the house every fe moments all throughout breakfast. I can still hear it. The shower fan was loud and I stepped on a contact lens empty packet just under my bed. Not ours...So we won't be back to this viewless B&B in the wonderful location. For £120 they need to step up their game.

Room Tip: If you are a single .. You get the sea views.
