My friend and visited this lovely resturant in the centre of Bangor for a relaxing catch up. We couldn't have been more pleased with the excellent service, the waitress had an excelent knowledge of how each dish was cooked and took time to explain how various dishes/courses complimented each other. The BYO is another added bonus. Both of meals were very tasty, we throughly enjoyed the overall atmosphere and have to say this is the original and by far the best south African themed resturant in the North Down area. Well done staff and expecially the chef at Phezulu

My wife and I had a fantastic meal there last night. The food was fresh, tasty and well balanced. I tried the Zebra, which was perfectly cooked and accompanied with a lovely garlic crushed new potatoes salad. My wife had the Jeffrey bay sirloin, again perfectly cooked, credit where its due. Chef knows how to cook.
The service was very friendly and efficient. Even the African music helped to make the experience very relaxing.First time there, but will def return. Do yourself a favour, try something a bit different, you won't regret it...

We dined in Phezulu Saturday 7th July using a living social deal and it wasn't the first time we've been here. As usual the food was fantastic, really couldn't fault it. The service however was a disaster. We were booked for 20.00hrs and not seated till 20:45hrs. We were served complimentary breads which were lovely and our starter order was taken. 30 mins later our starter arrived. Again, fantastic food. Plates cleared and mains ordered.....again 30 minutes to be served.....but again, great food.
I'm a big fan of Phezulu......food is great and the staff are polite...but if they don't sort this glitch out they won't last in such a competitive market. In a town the size of Bangor you have to be on top of your game.

Dined here last Friday night as a friend had given us a Living Social voucher, The décor and atmosphere of the restaurant were very nice and the restaurant was quite busy but not full. The two members of staff who served us were lovely and friendly. We ordered fish cakes and chicken skewers to start and then all had the special which was wild boar. We all felt disappointed with the quality of food, the fish cakes were just average and the boar special was quite bland. The meat was nicely cooked but the crushed potatoes and jus that accompanied it were almost flavourless. When the bill arrived we were extremely shocked to learn that the wild boar special was £17.95! It was extremely overpriced for what was served.
