Had a great meal with some friends on Sunday night
Fajitas, polo pepe and encheladas all went down a treat.
Top food, service, staff and even got a piece of birthday cake from the group at the next table.
Def try it out but watch out for the dodgy Crimbo music

“Think they were having a laugh”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

Have been on several occasions using voucher, meal has usually been okay for price, nothing to rave about. Had the fajita the choice was mild moderate or volcanic, I choose the medium, when the sizzling dish came out everyone in the restaurant began to cough, no one could speak the chillies were catching everyone's breath. Even the waiter couldn't speak, it was so hot my mouth was numb after having a piece of chicken the waiter had to open the door to let out the fumes. When I asked the young waiter was this the medium he laughed and said you should try volcanic. Twenty minutes later people came in and started to cough the fumes of the chillies were still so strong. Definitely think they were having a laugh.

I'm sorry to learn of your experience through tripadvisor. I have investigated this matter recently and fund that the chef at this time was adding too much chilli to our different heat levels and also adding chilli oil to the hot plates to create a more dramatic sizzle before the dish being taken to the table. This chef is no longer with us due to breaching several procedures and the way in which we serve dishes such as the fajitas back to way they should always have been. Again apologies for this occasion and we hope to maybe see you again in the future

“Big disappointment!!”
Reviewed 4 December 2013

Have been to this restaurant many times before and thought the food was excellent, however I recently purchased a living social voucher for 4 people - 4 mains & 4 sides.
We arrived last night to be met by a over attentive young waiter who handed us a menu specially made out for living social customers. To say it was disappointing is putting it mildly - any of the lovely dishes we had ate before ( and had told the friends with us about!!) were not to be seen.
The starter the fellas had was pitiful - it was meagre in the extreme - but we were told by the waiter it WAS only a starter!! Our nachos were ok. The mains were also ok - nothing to rave about!
The whole visit was very poor compared to previous visits - so one can only assume the voucher system is not worth it!

“Excellent value and food”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

We visited this about a week or two ago using a Groupon voucher. We read the reviews beforehand and, to be honest, we were expecting a terrible experience.

Service
Friendly and accommodating, eager to please and to make your experience enjoyable

Food
The menu was limited to their old menu which was their agreed Groupon offer apparently prior to their new menu. We had the ribs (after much deliberation over reviews) and a chicken option (which I would highly recommend), surprisingly both were beautiful (not as described in other reviews - whether they have changed chef or what I don't know). Portions were very large and the food tasty with plenty of sauce.

Surroundings and Presentation
Presentation of food was very good (but not a la carte) and the surroundings are pleasant and I believe would appeal to young couples and families.

Would I go back
YES! We had a great enjoyable experience which was good value and we will certainly return. They have an early bird option which is very affordable as a way of 'trying out' the menu. We would not view this as a place to go to for 'fine dining' or first option for a special occasion, but we would happily visit for a general eating out experience together or with our sons

The ribs literally fell off the bone-compliments to chef john. Defo worth a visit to this little diamond in the centre of bangor. Aaarrrriiiibbbaa!!!!
