“Another lovely stay at the Clandeboye!”
Reviewed 27 July 2012

My wife and I went for an overnight at the Clandeboye for our 10th wedding anniversary on a package including bed, breakfast and evening meal. We have been to the hotel before for meals, weddings and stays, and go back for one simple reason:- it is consistently good!
This stay was no exception. lovely meal, nice room (a suite) and great breakfast, but the greatest asset which the Clandeboye has are its staff. They are very friendly and attentive, and make you feel genuinely welcome.
Thanks for a lovely stay!!

The Clandeboye Lodge is the perfect venue for a wedding.Every little detail is taken care of by the very professional friendly staff. We went for the exclusive package which meant we had the venue to ourselves with everything included eg. red capet, champers and canopies on arrival, chair and table decorations and the honeymoon suite+ 2 extra rooms to use at your descretion. My husband and I enjoyed every moment of our day and did not have to ask for anything our room was top notch and the bed was massive (say no more lol).MY parents shared a room with my children aged 9 and 12.And my aunts uncles and cousins from England also stayed for a couple of nights and were very pleased with the hotel and its beautiful gardens perfect for photos. The food at both the wedding and at the hotel was excellent my only grumble was the breakfast for the men was not as big as our usual Ulster fry here in Northern Ireland but our men do have big appetites. To sum up a fantastic Wedding day and a lovley overnight stay witha very warm welcome.

Just flown back to North East England after staying the weekend for a wedding. As far as I was concerned the wedding panning and execution went to plan and think everyone had a very enjoyable time. In regards my own personal experience, the hotel and staff made for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Room was clean and tidy with all the usual amenities although some people may want more tv channels than are currently available, it did not bother me. My wife and I ate in the restaurant and were not disappointed. Staff were really attentive without being overbearing and cood was good. Breakfast on the 2 mornings we were there was nice and is served to you and not buffet style. If you want more, you just have to ask. Overall we had a wonderful stay, attended a wonderfully arranged wedding and were dealt with by professional staff.

I have only one issue!!!!! Although you can obviously charge costs from the hotel bar and restaurant to your room, you will need to have cash (£'s not Euros) for taxis to get to Belfast, Bangor or anywhere else as the hotel is located in a rural setting or for anything else not hotel related. This is where the problem lies!!!!!!! There is no cash machine at the hotel. We were only able to get cash back through the bar which was only open during the wedding for guests. Nearest ATM is at the garage some 10 mins walk back to the main road. So be warned, keep some spare cash in your wallet, otherwise, hope you have as good a stay as we did.

Stayed overnight on 9th July 2012 at the Clandeboye as I attended a wedding which was really well organised by the hotel and we all had a great day.Unfortuatelly the room I stayed (204) was scruffy. Curtains carpets and towels stained. Not what I expected from a 4* hotel. More disturbingly I saw silverfish on the shelf beside the sink. I filled in the comments form left in the room (it too was stained) and left it down to reception. Did not appreciate the receptionist discussing my comments in front of others. I don't usually write negative reviews

As usual we had another very pleasant break at Clandeboye with very pleasant surroundings. The staff - all of them - were very helpful and so nice. The food was good and we hope to return again before this year is out! We did say we would like a softer bed next time as the old bones get a bit sore these days!

Stayed on 12th June as a very special treat for our 25th Wedding Anniversary! The staff (every last one) of them could not have been more friendly or helpful. A bottle of very nice champagne awaited our arrival! Whilst making ouselves "at home" the most delicious plate of canapes arrived via room service. The room was one of the most comfortable we have stayed in and our travels have been pretty extensive. Room was very tastefully decorated with a traditional feel with a very modern twist! Plenty of room and a supberb walk in shower room. Enjoyed a super evening meal and once again very attentive amusing and sociable staff! A super breakfast also and didnt even think about lunch.Wish we could have stayed longer and would definately go back. Would highly recommend!

Room Tip: Room no 306- ask for this one. It definately won't dissapoint!
