When I stayed at this hotel before I said that the staff were the best thing about it and that still holds true. They are just so friendly and can't do enough for you. I have had to continue my work commitments in the area and this hotel has been the most invaluable discovery in terms of value for money, comfort, excellent food and impeccable service and friendliness. I know most of the rooms at this stage and apart from the electric sockets being a bit far from the (huge) bed they are all a haven of comfort after a hard day's work. Highly recommended.

Absolutely wonderful and relaxing 3 night stay at the Clandeboye. From the moment we arrived we were treated to first class service from the staff. The food was excellent with a varied menu that made dinner choices difficult. Luckily we had no hard choices to make at breakfast as the 'fry' was one of the best I've had in any hotel. What can I say? Well done Clandeboye Lodge!! We will certainly be back.

We booked the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel for our 1 year wedding anniversary, as we had got married there last March. I booked by telephone and mentioned our anniversary, so they said they would give us a complementary room upgrade.
Unfortunately in the week leading up to our night, both my husband and I were sick with the flu so we rang up and the hotel was more than accommodating, giving us the choice of delaying our stay by a night, or later when we were both better. We decided to go a night later than planned.
On arrival we were offered a hot port which was more than welcome. We were also given the same honeymoon suite which we had for our wedding which was a lovely touch.
The room was large, overlooking quiet fields. Our bathroom had a large marble bath and we even had a build in tv screen in the bathroom. There was also a walk in shower in our bathroom and lovely toiletries.
We booked dinner for 7pm and arrived in the middle of Mother's Day parties, but found the food and service excellent as usual. We were also given a complementary glass of champagne and really enjoyed our dinner.
The hot breakfast in the morning was great as it was made to order and arrived hot. There was a nice selection of cold buffet items too.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay at the Clandeboye. Would highly recommend it.

The grounds around the Hotel were impeccable and well lit at night with ample parking facilities.
The welcome was very professional and warm, the staff went out of there way to comfort the guests! The room was perfect with a great "raindance" shower and very comfortable large bed.
The cleanliness was very good and and the complimentary champagne was well appriciated after our road trip from Dublin.
The breakfast buffet was well laid out and the additional food items were fresh and delivered fast at the table, very friendly staff as well.
Great experience!!!!!

I live up the road from this hotel and as such have a certain fondness for the Clandeboye Lodge. Growing up, the bar was a regular feature for Friday night tea with my parents; my 6th form school leavers BBQ was held here; Saturday nights in my early twenties were all too frequently spent in The George (as was!) and in more recent years I have attended many weddings and family functions which i have always thoroughly enjoyed. (My friends wedding is featured in the hotel's wedding promotional video on their website and i have great fun spotting myself in it, sad i know!)

With all this in mind, expectations were high. We stayed in the hotel on Saturday 2nd March, having booked the one night WInter Warmer package (including dinner, bed and breakfast) to treat ourselves after a rubbish few weeks. On booking in there was only one person on reception so we had to wait whilst she finished a telephone call: she was very friendly and apologetic about keeping us waiting, very welcoming, checked us in with no fuss and asked would we like our hot port (included inthe package) now or after we settled in the room. we chose the latter.

Our hotel room, 210, was a lovely standard double: clean and comfortable, calming decor and with a view out over fields. It felt very private and tranquil, which was good as the aim of the stay was relaxation. There was a good sized TV with a reasonable choice of tv channels to please the bloke. The bathroom wasn't the largest (no separate shower) but i thought it was lovely: clean, bright and with nice toiletries. I imagine if you booked a more expensive room there would be a bigger bathroom, but for a short stay it was great. The other half certainly enjoyed his relaxing bath whilst i enjoyed sprawling out on the bed with a good book!
We went down for dinner at about 7.45pm....friendly staff greeted us, the dining room was very busy. Although the restaurant is a high ceiling beamed room, I still felt that it was warm and cosy. The residents menu had lots of choice although if i did it again i might have skipped the starter and saved more room for dessert. For mains, I enjoyed the braised beef with peas and boulangere potatoes: portion size was generous, meat was melt in your mouth, overall flavours were great. Im not a fan of peas in general but these tasted so fresh they were a treat. My partner had a steak onglet (only for those who like their meat rare!) and chunky chips....we didnt have additional side orders as we found that we didnt need them....and we shared a creme brulee for dessert because that was all we had room for!

For sleeping the bedroom was very comfortable and felt quite luxurious. The only thing i would say was that at night we both found the room a bit too warm, which combined with overindulgence of good food and drink, meant that it wasnt the best night's sleep. On hindsight, we probably should have opened the window and let some cool air in. This is why i have only rated the sleep quality as average.

For breakfast there was lots on offer: a full range of contintental breakfast items, with pastries, cold meats and cheeses, a choice of cereals and yoghurts, and cooked breakfast from the kitchen. It all looked lovely. I had a selection of items from the hot breakfast menu, the bloke mixed and matched: to be honest, I still felt pretty full from the night before!

This was the first time i have actually stayed as a guest in this hotel and overall i really enjoyed the experience and would not hesitate to do so again if i could get a comparable price/package (£52 pp)

We felt it was great value for money, especially considering the quality of the food and the friendly service.

I stayed in this hotel recently and cannot be more positive about he experience. The staff, without exception, were welcoming, helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom and bathroom were both spotlessly clean and I had an extremely comfortable night's sleep in a very cosy bed. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. I had the cooked breakfast, which was served fresh to the table (not buffet style like many hotels) and, unlike buffet breakfasts, it was piping hot. I will definitely be back.

We have stayed in this hotel a number of times. During our most recent stay we found the quality of the whole product remains excellent.
The rooms were, as always, spotless and well presented with large comfortable beds. The TVs have been updated to new super-slim LED screens.
Since our last stay the restaurant menu has been revised but remains varied. The food quality was very good and well presented and served by attentive and friendly staff.
We particularly enjoy breakfast in this hotel. There are many healthy options but a nice touch is that cooked breakfasts are cooked to order yet seem to arrive in minutes.
