“Really Relaxing Stay”
Reviewed 1 April 2013

We stayed at the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel on Good Friday and Easter Saturday. We got a complimentary upgrade because it was my friends birthday. Our room was very clean and comfortable with extras such as filtered coffee, an espresso machine and bottled water along with a fruit bowl. The toiletries included some lavender bath salts which I think is nice touch. Our Newspaper was delivered on Saturday morning also. We ate dinner on our first night and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Good portion size and the quality was beautiful. The menu had excellent choices too. 8 Starters, about 14 mains and about 6 desserts with a large coffee option too. Breakfast was simple but well presented and cooked served to your table. They even serve their own Yogurt which is produced onsite from the milk from their own cows. They have two different breeds. I can't say enough about the staff, all very very pleasant and helpful. A credit to themselves and their workplace and like most hotels, its best asset. The hotel is quiet and is set in a quiet countryside location. It suited us fine, taxis are available both into Bangor and Belfast. I would definitely stay here again and I would definitely recommend it to family and friends. Thanks for the lovely stay.

Third stay here, and not disappointed. Lovely room with massive bed. Staff excellent and really friendly and helpful. I had a good dinner in the Restaurant and will certainly come here again. Recommend it.

We booked Clandeboye Lodge for our first trip to Northern Ireland from England. I was travelling with my husband and 2 kids - aged 11 and 12.

The hotel was well located - peaceful setting yet close enough to Belfast and Bangor. The atmosphere of the hotel was slightly disappointing. There was no real intimacy to the lounge/bar area - it felt like it just insider the door and felt more like a waiting area then a warm meeting place.

We had a package with dinner included. The food was good - breakfast in particular was excellent. Dinner on our first night was disappointing. There was a wedding on and that seemed to have the attention of the serving staff - and the food apparently. They were out of a couple of the more popular appetizers and we were told it was because of the event.

The wedding partiers were heard clearly in the hallways at 2 and 3am in the morning causing us all an unrestful night. It kind of negated the whole reason for staying in a peaceful spot as opposed to right in Belfast.

We got a really good deal and the staff were friendly so I would say there was value for money, but next time we would probably just stay in Belfast.

My Husband and I stayed over 1 night and had an evening meal. The staff could not have been better. The food could not have been better. The room was beautiful and absolutely spotless and the grounds were excellently maintained. Could not recommend this place high enough and we cannot wait to go back for another night stay! just cant believe that I never thought of staying in this hotel before. The breakfast was wonderful,The staff make this little Gem of a hotel, very relaxed and freindly atmosphere.
Well done to all the hard working staff!! cannot wait to return, also got a complementary upgrade, must say it was greatly appreciated by us both.

We recently visited the Clandeboye Lodge to attend a Wedding and were very impressed not only with the location and staff( all of whom were impeccably turned out!) but the level of service, attention to detail and quality of food. We thought it was a one off or we'd " got Lucky" that day. However we recently were lucky enough to be invited back to a private party. On both occasions the food, its presentation and quality could only be described as a " Fine dining " experience.
The location its self has some beautiful function rooms. With all its efficient and well managed levels of service Clandeboye still manages to maintain a relaxed and friendly atmosphere!
Well done the Management team!

When I stayed at this hotel before I said that the staff were the best thing about it and that still holds true. They are just so friendly and can't do enough for you. I have had to continue my work commitments in the area and this hotel has been the most invaluable discovery in terms of value for money, comfort, excellent food and impeccable service and friendliness. I know most of the rooms at this stage and apart from the electric sockets being a bit far from the (huge) bed they are all a haven of comfort after a hard day's work. Highly recommended.

Absolutely wonderful and relaxing 3 night stay at the Clandeboye. From the moment we arrived we were treated to first class service from the staff. The food was excellent with a varied menu that made dinner choices difficult. Luckily we had no hard choices to make at breakfast as the 'fry' was one of the best I've had in any hotel. What can I say? Well done Clandeboye Lodge!! We will certainly be back.
