We arrived before check in time and were given a place to store our luggage while we went out around Bangor. The luggage was in our room when we returned. Our room was at the front on the second floor (plus equal to one more floor up from the street). The view was fantastic. During the day we could see across the Belfast Lough and watch the ships coming in and going out. At night the sunsets and lights across the lough were spectacular. We also could see the lighted ships moving through the lough. The facilites were very clean and comfortable and the over 110 year old building was in top condition and very interesting. Breakfast was Ulster Fry with OJ, tea and coffee or any other reasonable request. It was most satisfying and the great way to start a day of sightseeind. Bacon and sausage were grilled not fried. But the most important part of our stay was Gina, the owner. She is the perfect hostess, very cheerful and friendly. She often asked if there was any thing we needed or she could do for us. We are from Portland, Oregon, USA. If we have the chance to come back to Bangor, Anglers Rest will be at the top of our list for places to stay. THANK YOU, Gina!!! You made our stay better than we could have imagined.
