“Lovely food”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Food was lovely. The choice was great. I had the Malaysian chicken curry which was just perfect. Husband had the burger which he enjoyed. He was a bit dubious about the Triple Cooked Chips, but on tasting them pronounced them "Gorgeous!)

“great experience”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Visited for the first time on Friday evening. On entering though, we weren't greeted properly, but one we were, the waitress and service was superb, very efficient, personal and attentive. The dining room was modern, clean and very stylish. The food was a very good standard, not overly pricey. They could perhaps offer more of a Steak menu, since the name indicated a Bull? But all the dishes we had (4 x people) everyone was very pleased with there dishes and really enjoyed the experience. I'm highly likely to go back again. They've raised the bar for the local competition

“fresh & tasty food, elegant venue”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

The decor in the Coq & Bull restaurant is ultra modern, elegant and comfortable, especially the beautiful teal velvet squishy chairs! I had the chicken breast, topped with beetroot chutney
and Ryefield goats cheese on rocket with pesto, followed by the banana & pecan sticky toffee pudding. All of it was delicious. The pud was the best I've ever tasted! The glass of sauvignon blanc was perfectly chilled. Service was very pleasant and prompt. The grounds around the restaurant are very nice, it's easy to find and there's plenty of parking. The restaurant is part of the Clandeboye Lodge hotel. Can't wait for an excuse to go back!

“Good food let down by service and pricing”
Reviewed 28 June 2014 via mobile

Positives :-
Food is good quality
Decor is lovely
Tables well spaced

Negatives :-
Service (stood for minutes waiting for someone to seat us, a girl doing nothing avoided our eyes throughout)
Service (we watched as food was brought to the wrong table 4 times before someone else's meal was brought to ours)
Service ( given menus, ignored, finally our orders were taken. Shortly after we heard a neighbouring table being told about the specials, first we'd heard of them)
Service (on a small table nothing was removed ie. starter cutlery, empty glasses)
Price - far too expensive for the food given and unjustifiable with the service.

The management of the student staff was non-existent. If this brasserie is going to make a go if it this needs to be sorted, immediately.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 25 June 2014 via mobile

I had a birthday meal in this resturant because the reviews were so glowing. Sadly I was very disappointed. I thought the food was mediocre and over priced and the music was a little pretentious. The one thing that did impress me was the young staff who were helpful and very polite.
