Owner description: Housing 15 keg lines and 6 cask lines, RedWillow Bar has a constant varied line-up of RedWillow beer (including some limited and exclusives you won’t find anywhere else) as well as an ever-changing range of guest beers from breweries around the UK and world. Not all about beer; stocking over 60 different gins and spirits, there is something for everyone. As well as drinks we serve various bar snacks, meat and cheese platters and stonebaked pizzas from a menu that is constantly changing; using homemade or local produce.

Had a great night here. The decor is awesome and I loved the plasma screen with all the beers on so that you don't have to get right to the bat to see the options. (Over 14 different beers).

Only bad point was that prosecco which you can have by the glass was off. There was no replacement bottles The management handled it very well and gave us money off some champagne instead.

Would go back. Best selection of on-tap beers I have seen in macc

Somewhat late to pick up on this new bar at the back of Macc, but as a Redwillow fan I was there in no time once I heard of its existence. Essentially one large room (ex-furniture showroom) with minimal dividing-off and a range of seating from Chesterfield-style sofas to conventional table-and-chairs and a couple of bar stools.

Didn't try the food which is in its earliest stages and I suspect they will expand on the offering once they get firmly settled in. The beer is the thing here and there are twenty available on draught, either on handpump or nifty keg taps on the back wall of the bar. Their own brews made up seven or eight of the offerings on my visit along with other locals (Happy Valley from Bollington), localish (Acorn from Barnsley) and further afield (6 Degrees North from Aberdeen, Brewfist from Italy).

A very convivial bit of space (upmarket Wetherspoons !) and I look forward to trying the food offerings on a subsequent visit.

As a real ale fan and supporter of local brewers this is a welcome addition to the towns hostelries.
The decor is eclectic and the beers are well presented and well kept.
The good selection of grazing/nibbling plates is a good idea.
Well worth a visit.

One and only criticism.......

We've been fans of the Red Willow beers since the very beginning, and we've always managed to find sufficient stock to take home with us. ;-)
The Red Willow bar in Macclesfield is an ideal place for a great choice of beers, from the Red Willow brewery (cask and keg), or from other excellent craft breweries from around the UK or from other shores.
The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, and the bar is just beautiful, with comfortable and cosy benches or sofas and gleaming brass.
This is a place to spend many hours!

As a fan of Red Willow Brewery, the best thing that could happen is the opening of a brewery tap.....and hay presto here it is. No expense has been spared in the conversion of this old Macclesfield Co-op building. As a long time resident of the town I recall that some 40 or more years ago this used to be a Co-op footwear outlet. The interior layout remains much the same, but that is where the similarity stops. Red Willow have gone to town.........with everything. From the artistic copper pipe work in the gents to the bespoke chandeliers also made from copper pipe no detail has been left to chance. The bar layout is large enough for staff to move about and for customers to get served even on the busiest of nights. The seating is plentiful with three alcove tables able to seat up to about twelve people round each. There are tall tables dotted round the room with padded stools placed around them. The selection of beers is excellent and the food looks to be of a high standard also. The menu, although not available at the time of this review, I am told is going to be focusing on quality and simplicity. The beers start at around 2.90 for a pint of Red Willow house cask. There are 5 cask lines, 14 Key Keg lines and Prosecco also available on draft by the glass. The ever changing beer selection is displayed on a Plasma TV located on the back wall over the bar. Not all are Red Willow beers, there being a good choice of guests not to mention the extensive Gin range. If it's none alcoholic your after then there is a good range of tea's and cordials available. Keep up the good work guys. A must if your in Macclesfield and well worth a visit. Closed Mondays.
