Description: Here at Aquila we are a italian type bacaro serving small dishes of sharing food with a twist, wines ,beers and spirits ....

Tucked away down a side street just outside the town centre, this place is a little slice of the Mediterranean with the warmth of Northern hospitality - what's not to love? A small, informal "bacaro" that's spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard, Aquila can fulfill all your drinking and dining needs, whether it's as part of a group for a celebration, dinner for 2 or just a drink at the bar. The selection of drinks is superb with a good choice of chilled artisan beers from the continent served in beautiful glasses - this really makes a difference, as well as wines and spirits. The food is cooked in front of you so you know exactly what is going in your meal and all the dishes are fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. You can order as much or as little as you like - there are no restrictions, just go with the flow (and your appetite) and enjoy the laid back approach to dining that's so often lacking this country. But what really makes this place is the fantastic customer service provided by the great staff. They are warm, accommodating and funny - happy to engage in some banter and have a laugh or to leave you to it and just pop up when needed. They are casual yet professional - the perfect combination that makes this place a treat to visit but don't take my word for it - try it for yourself - you won't be disappointed (just make sure you call up to book a table if you do want to eat as it only seats about 20 people and you wouldn't want to miss out).

Decided to try a night out in Macclesfield and came across a little "bacaro" called Aquila on King Edward Street.
Welcomed with open arms by the friendly staff and offered a fine selection of Italian bottled beers, all reasonably priced.
We were quickly enticed to try some of the food on offer, delicious home made foccacia bread, octopus salad, fine cooked meats and olives served on planks.
Had planned to be out for a short time and ended up being sat at the bar for most of the evening and we were richly entertained by the staff. Would definitely recommend.

Decided to have date night here and was not disappointed. Great concept, brilliant banter from the chef Ryan and amazing service from our waiter Harry made it an unforgettable evening. Food was spectacular and is by far the best in Macclesfield. Will 100% recommend and will definitely be back!

Went last night with my girlfriend. Hosts were really friendly and the choice of beers and wines were totally splendid. But the food surpassed all expectations - totally wonderful :) Spent far to long and far too much and doubtless will do the same next time. Should you go? Definitely. Unless that means you're nicking our table. Yes it's small but that's all part of the charm. A true find and I'm not sure I should be telling so many people about it.
