“Super Place!”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

This is just right off the beaten path - a few feet maybe. We were greeted by a woman - but I think she was much more like the fabled fairy godmother (sans the wand). She laughed and was cheerful - showed us to our room and then gave us cake and tea. She was incredibly attentive to anything we wanted and made sure our experience was perfect. It's lovely, clean, cozy and the views are awesome. I loved her little dog, too. (very well behaved fellow)

Room Tip: There is no one good room. They are ALL good.

A lovely B&B which made us feel very welcome - coffee and cakes on arrival always does the trick after a days walk! As it is literally metres from the Hadrian's Wall Trail it is ideal for anyone walking the route.

The rooms are of a high standard and exceptionally clean. The breakfast was excellent as was the packed lunch we ordered for the next day.

Although there is no pub nearby, the hosts drove us to a pub around 3 miles away and then arranged for us to be dropped back. The pub was excellent as well!

Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful warm friendly welcome. Tea and cakes by a roaring fire in a delightful sitting room.
Bedrooms well furnished, all the facilities we needed. Lovely bed linen and towels. Magnificent well appointed bathroom. Beautifully furnished throughout, interesting features, marvellous views.
Excellent breakfast, nothing too much trouble for our lovely hosts Elizabeth and David. Thank you for your attention to detail and your kindness. Jean Worcestershire

You really feel welcomed by Elizabeth and David! We were four very weary travellers when we arrived (I'm sure the timings in Henry Steadman's book are a little optimistic for the final leg of day 4 if you're walking East to West). It was brilliant to be welcomed into the living room for tea and cake while we took it in turns to shower!

The lift to the local pub was very welcomed and made the stay even more enjoyable!

Breakfast is delicious and I would highly recommend the packed lunch (the challenge is not to eat it all the second you leave the house as its all so yummy! Luckily there is plenty to provide energy for walkers!)

I think it was the hope of the delicious tea that kept my 3 children going as we had under estimated the distance. And they were not disappointed! A wonderful tea on arrival, with delicious cakes, ample hot water for the 5 of us and other guests and a lovely meal at the local pub. We slept like logs and were given a delicious breakfast to set us on our way again the following morning. Elizabeth and David couldn't have been friendlier or more charming. Many thanks, The Fallowfields

Room Tip: Both rooms were great!

Arrived at the B and B and immediately felt at home. Greated with tea and cakes and a warm friendly welcome.
Stayed only one night while on a cycling holiday but could have stayed much longer as such a lovely place. Rooms were immaculate as was the whole house and garden.Views were also amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Would love to visit again.

A very nice place to spend the night. We were tired cyclists when we arrived and Elizabeth treated us to tea and cake. In the evening, David drove us to a local pub and the pub chef, Steve, brought us back. Very comfortable and a great breakfast. Will definitely go back sometime!
