What a lovely B&B! Right from the warm welcome received on entering this house, through the escort to the local pub, the filling breakfast and the spacious and comfortable bedroom - everything about this B&B was superb - and it is right on the trail - highly recommended!

Used this B and B whilst walking Hadrians wall it is on the path on arrival we were given tea and cake introduced shown to our rooms which are to a very high standard. Shared a newly refurbed batroom with excellent shower. Given a lift to a near by pub some six miles away landlord brought us back all for free. Slept very well and ate a fine hearty breakfast and left with a fine packed lunch. No regrets.

After a long walk along Hadrian's Wall, a pleasant greeting in an old stone farmhouse, was greeted with nice welcome, and shown to my room. Decor was like a lodge with beautiful woodwork and modern. A panoramic view from the rear sitting area overlooks miles of quiet valleys. The whole atmosphere was ultimate relaxation. Breakfast was full English and provided without any problems. Proprietor was very helpful and would highly recommend this lodging without reserve. Top marks.

This B&B really has it all: Superb location spot on the Hadrian's Wall trail, Elisabeth's warm-hearted welcome, hot tea and homemade cake upon arrival, the crackling log in the fireplace, breathtaking views over the valley that seems to spring from the back of the house, spacious twin room, comfy mattress, everything spic and span, and, what a sensational "Escape to the Country meets contemporary design" bathroom. Hungry or even starving? The lord of the house drives you to a local pub where you can enjoy great food and a decent selection of ales after which the pub owner takes you back no matter the state you are in. In the morning there's everything you need to get fuelled for another day of hiking along the Wall: eggs from free-range hens pecking around in the garden, bacon, homemade jam and marmalade, fruit juices, a selection of bread and cereals, cheese, coffee, tea and milk "à volonté", and of course, the full English breakfast for those in need of extra calories. In the second week of April 2014 me and my cousin hiked 6 days from West to East, starting in Bowness-on-Solway and ending in Wallsend. We spent 6 nights in B&B's and 1 night at the Euro Hostel in Newcastle. On our list the Quarryside B&B ranks number 1.

Thank you for your kind review. Peggy the dog enjoyed playing tug with you and enjoys having visitors in the house. It was a pleasure to have you both in our house. I hope you reach the end of the wall safely.

This is just right off the beaten path - a few feet maybe. We were greeted by a woman - but I think she was much more like the fabled fairy godmother (sans the wand). She laughed and was cheerful - showed us to our room and then gave us cake and tea. She was incredibly attentive to anything we wanted and made sure our experience was perfect. It's lovely, clean, cozy and the views are awesome. I loved her little dog, too. (very well behaved fellow)

Room Tip: There is no one good room. They are ALL good.

A lovely B&B which made us feel very welcome - coffee and cakes on arrival always does the trick after a days walk! As it is literally metres from the Hadrian's Wall Trail it is ideal for anyone walking the route.

The rooms are of a high standard and exceptionally clean. The breakfast was excellent as was the packed lunch we ordered for the next day.

Although there is no pub nearby, the hosts drove us to a pub around 3 miles away and then arranged for us to be dropped back. The pub was excellent as well!

Would definitely stay there again.
