“Excellent location and quality”

A stop during our Hadrian's wall hiking, a little bit away from the path, during a rather atypically British hot summer period. Authentic and very comfortable and clean accomodation. An excellent 3 course menu is served. Friendly staff.

We were cycling coast to coast, and on day 2 we stayed here. Great family run establishment with well-stocked honour bar. Awesome power showers after a long day cycling/ walking! Highly recommended. They also make a great full English with fried banana!

Lovely location and quite close to Hadrians' Wall which I was walking with my grandaughter.Very comfortable, clean en-suite rooms.Good breakfast served at a very large communal farmhouse style table. Most guests were sharing war stories about their walk along the Wall! Dinner can be served if pre-ordered a day earlier but we went to the tea rooms at Lanercost Priory which is good if a little limited for choice. Its also posible to take a bus into Brampton for dinner and a taxi back.

Stayed here for one night on our walk of the Hadrian's Wall path. A short detour off the route, but a lot closer than Brampton.

We were welcomed, despite our wet, muddy and bedraggled state after spending a day out walking on a typical English Summer's day!

The accommodation is of a high quality and very clean. It's an organised and efficiently run establishment, which we personally appreciated. The breakfast options are many and ordered the day before, which provided us with opportunity to have a variation on the 'full English', kippers to be precise and very nice indeed.

On the evening we were there, we went into Brampton for drinks and eats. If we had read this website, we would've realised that in addition to the offer of an evening meal, the host also provides a well stocked and varied 'honesty bar' and probably would've stayed local.

Room Tip: We booked a twin room + a single via an online booking agency. This had been advised to Abbey Bridge...

Lovely place and fantastic rooms. Food was very good wholesome food, but I had emailed them with some food dislikes and I don't know if he didn't get the email but I struggled with the meal. My friends really enjoyed it so it was a shame. Didn't like to ask him if he had got the email as he made us so welcome and the setting etc of the place is excellent. Would certainly go back again and would love to visit Lanercost Priory. honesty bar was well stocked and lovely. Fantastic position for walkers walking Hadrian's wall as we were.

We had walked a full day and wanted to visit Lanercost Priory so it was a relief that we just had to walk 5 minutes down the road to our B&B. Abbey Bridge B&B has an interesting history in a lovely setting, within view of a picturesque bridge and Lanercost Priory. Hosts were very welcoming and gave us a lift into Brampton for dinner since they were headed that way. Our room was tastefully updated, spacious, clean and comfortable; the bathroom had a double shower. Honor bar stocked with wine and beer. Breakfast very good and Tim packed lunches for us for £5. Not too far from the wall and would definitely recommend this B&B.

Stopped here last month with two walking chums towards the end of our East to West walk of the Hadrian's Wall path. We had very good rooms plus excellent dinner and breakfast, both cooked by Tim, with a well stocked honesty bar including much appreciated local ales.
My only quibble is that it is a little way off the trail, but there is nothing closer - and it is actually well worth the extra effort.
