Stayed two nights in Roscrea B&B. We had a beautiful room. Very comfortable. The whole house including the bedrooms are filled with really quaint, cool, eccentric books, pictures and stuff in general! beautiful old house. House is on a busy street traffic-wise and so would imagine that any rooms at the front of the house would be quite noisy so if you are booking would request a room at the back of the house. We had a lovely room at the back of the house and had no noise. Gorgeus breakfast. Owners very nice and helpful. Parking is free but is a bit away from the house (about 5 min walk). Would definately recommend if staying in Bodmin. Very comfortable B&B.

Room Tip: B&B is on a busy traffic street so would say rooms at front of house could be quite noisy.

The b&b is an old school master’s house directly onto the street, They offer off-street parking outside two garages, a five minute walk away, off a town car park.

Sarah met us at the door and helped us unload whilst I was parked in the busy street outside the b&b before driving to their off-street parking. She gave us a very friendly welcome and showed us around the house which includes a dining room & drawing room with access to the garden that guests are invited to use.

We sat in the garden talking to the young chickens and watching the bees dart in and out of the hives whilst Sarah prepared tea and cake for us. Lovely.

The double bedroom was large with lots of interesting odd and ends. In fact the house is full of interesting bits and pieces. The ensuite was small though the shower was excellent.

The breakfast was delicious with homemade bread and spreads.

The b&b is located close to the centre of Bodmin. We didn't do much else in Bodmin than walk to two local pubs for dinner though I believe Sarah can provide dinners if arranged.

Overall a nice place to stay.

I stayed for three nights in an ensuite room, which had a spotlessly clean shower room with lovely Victorian-style fittings that really complemented the general decor of the room.

The room itself was cosy, clean and spacious with lots of lovely little touches that made it feel more like the guest bedroom in a (particularly hospitable) friend's house than a dull hotel room, and this is the only place I've ever stayed where the complementary drinks included real ground coffee as well as the usual instant.

I didn't have the cooked breakfast as I preferred to go for the continental, but it seemed very enthusiastically received by other people having breakfast at the same time. There was home made jam and marmalade to go on the toast, and a generous pot of coffee per person and it made a great start to the day

Sarah was friendly and helpful, including digging out and offering me the loan of an OS map to help me find my way to a nearby attraction I wanted to visit.

I would heartily recommend this lovely place to anyone planning to stay in Bodmin.

We only stayed for one night, so didn’t spend too much time here. The house is an old school master’s house, directly on a busy street (however traffic cannot be heard from inside your bedroom).
Sarah & Nick gave us a very friendly welcome and showed us around the main house which includes a dining room & drawing room with access to their garden (unfortunately we didn’t get to see it, as it was raining).
The bedroom was very spacious, with lots of personal touches. The rain shower is absolutely amazing!!
Breakfast was the highlight, with whatever you want made fresh to order. Eggs are from their own chickens kept in the garden, and homemade bread & jam were delicious.
We recommend this, if all you need is a place to stay when visiting nearby areas. Bodmin town is pretty quiet and there isn’t too much to do in the immediate surrounds of the guest house.
The Thai restaurant at the Westberry Hotel (10min walk from the guest house) is great!

We found Roscrea last August (2010), our daughter had just moved there and we were visiting. What a find!! We were welcomed in more as friends than paying guests. Nothing was to big an ask. The room was warm and welcoming with a lovely power shower, all in keeping with the Victorian decor and very clean. There was a complimentary tray in the room with Fairtrade coffee and tea, herb tea, drinking chocolate, horlicks ect. Plus the home made cake that appeared as if by magic on our return to our room - Delicious!! We are veggi's and had scrambled eggs (from own hens) mushrooms, tomatoes, with the toast (home made bread) and preserves (all home made), we couldn't have asked for more. We stayed again in June 2011 and to my delight found that Sarah has started to keep her own bee's, so 'Roscrea Honey' next year on the breakfast table!. If you think that sounds good - try the evening meals - absolutely delicious. Both stays were for a week and the quality of service never waivered, nothing was ever to much trouble. Thank you so much Sarah & Nick - We'll be back xx

Sarah and Nick were welcoming hosts with tea and bread pudding which pretty sure was homemade.

Comfy bed and fab shower and good breakfast.

Parking not on site but literally 2 mins walk away and can unload outside front door.

Room Tip: Stayed in the lilac and cream room (see website)
