“Very impressed!”

We visited the Red Lion whilst on holiday in Cornwall based on good reviews on trip advisor and recommendations from other guests where we were staying. We were not disappointed, the food was so good we made a return visit and had an even better experience, the steaks were absolutely delicious as was our other meals and top marks for the desserts!

“Great food but watch out for hidden extras”
Reviewed 8 July 2014 via mobile

This pub is very dark and dated but dont be put off by the interior. The Beef sunday roast was absolutely delicious!! The only downside is two members of our party requested more gravy. Usually, we get this for free when we eat out but we were charged an extra 5 pounds and not told about it. This put a rather sour taste in our mouths. If you are going to charge then I think perhaps you should mention it beforehand. We were a large group of 8 so it would have been nice to have been given that for free. Needless to say we did not leave a tip.

“Excellent food, well worth a visit here.”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

We stopped here for lunch one afternoon as our young daughter needed a bottle, from entering the pub we had a very warm welcome. Vast options on the menu.
We booked to come back a few nights later with the rest of the family, two 15months toddlers a 10week baby and 10 adults. We were accommodated well and service was attentive. Again the food was excellent.
My only criticism was baby/toddler changing facilities, a changing mat was provided but no where to change in private. Over all i would most definitely go here again and recommend to anyone visiting the area.

“Great for a Sunday roast and pub quiz night”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

We booked for a meal, first evening at my first visit to Cornwall. The staff were very welcoming and friendly service. The Sunday roast was excellent with plentiful vegetables. The chicken thai green curry came as a bit of a surprise to me as deconstructed however it was tasty with few fine green beans. Visually it looked like watery green soup with large pieces of chicken thrown in..with rice and nan bread.. great choice if you're watching the calories. We took part in the pub quiz and enjoyed the evening . The ambience was warm and popular with the locals.
