We travelled down to Cornwall to celebrate my son's graduation & thought we would make a weekend of it, the hotel looked good online so we booke for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly & helpful on arrival. The room was quite small and very warm there was no air conditioning (you can obtain a freestanding fan from reception) I hate to think how hot the rooms are in the summer. The bathroom could have been cleaner and the tiles on the floor were cracked.Breakfast was pretty good although if you turn up nearer 10 than 8 dont expect to find a cleared and laid table. I must say the restaurant was very good and the service there superb.

Room Tip: try and find a room with that opens onto the golf course so you can cool the room down by opening the doors

Cannot recommend Lanhydrock enough. Lovely room overlooking the very attractive course (we're not golfers), with patio doors and outside seating. Very reasonable menus and helpful waiting staff. We opted for the bar menu, having arrived late, and ate in the spacious sunlounge, again with the great views. Breakfast was a help-yourself buffet of continental and hot food. Enjoyed the local bacon and sausages very much.

We'll be back and have already recommended Lanhydrock to friends looking for a good base to explore Cornwall.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have outside seating.

Having used this hotel many times, we were really disappointed with the service .
Front desk was helpful, however room service lunch did not arrive after almost an hour we chased it and told the sandwiches would still be a while. We ate out for dinner, but did have breakfast where the service was diabolical. Staff would seem to avoid you rather than speak! Sadly we would now be unlikely to use this hotel again :(
Room was very hot and there are no windows only patio doors so you can't leave them open at night.

Quite horrified to read this review after a rare weekend off, as one of the Directors I have contacted the clients via Trip Advisor to thank them for their feedback and to give me chance to investigate. As we have 98% satisfaction on Laterooms I take this very seriously and will act urgently.PS It is 3am so hardly a nine to five job owning a small Hotel!

This is a beautiful hotel situated in the middle of the golf course. It has magnificent views and as the weather was lovely it was a pleasure to sit on the patio overlooking the course. The receptionists could not have been more helpful. We requested an upstairs room at the end of a corridor and this we were given. The rooms are lovely - light and clean and well furnished with a lovely bathroom. Perhaps two comfy chairs would have helped as we don't like having to sit on beds.

There was, however, one big downfall and that was the breakfasts. The hot food was laid out in warmers - much of it looked tired and the the eggs looked decidedly rubber like. It was a big disappointment that there was no fresh fish for breakfast. You could have it in the evening but for breakfast it was frozen! Considering how close this hotel was from the sea - a big disappointment. The fruit salad, what was left of it ,was also poor. You obviously need to get there first to have strawberries and decent melon! We did discuss the issue of breakfasts with the manager, but time will tell if they change their system. I had a poached egg one morning. This came swimming in water and had obviously been boiled to death in vinegary water. I had to mop up the water off my plate with a serviette and replace the soggy toast. Unfortunately the egg was horrible.

If this hotel manage to get breakfast right I would definitely return as the position and room were lovely.
