The Mains of Drum
Ranked #12 of 41 Restaurants in Banchory
Certificate of Excellence
Description: We are a family owned and run Garden Centre set in beautiful landscaped grounds on the A96 between Peterculter and Banchory just beside the village of Drumoak. Since opening in 2009, we have now become a superior shopping destination on Royal Deeside for not only beautiful plants and all things for the garden, but have also created an award winning giftware department too. We pride ourselves on giving a personal service and delivering beyond expectations every time and remain Scotland's only Five Star Garden Centre.

On a recent visit to Mains of Drum , meeting for a morning coffee and something to eat, we decided to try the made to order pancakes, a new addition to the menu. They looked and smelt good but unfortunately were really quite undercooked and the jam was too runny. Their food is of a good standard, especially the cooked breakfasts, just think they need to practice a bit more with getting the pancakes as they are a nice addition to the menu.

Thank you for your feedback. Our made to order pancakes have been on our menu for a few years and are very popular so I am sorry that your pancake was not up to our usual high standard. If you would like to give me a call on 01330 811000 with your details I will arrange a complimentary pancake on your next visit. Kind regards, Emma

The restaurant was well set out, clean and well decorated. The toilets were spotless.
The service was average as was the food, we had baked potatoes that were just warm enough, we very nearly sent it back, I can always wait for my food to cool but I can’t heat it up.
The gift shop was well laid out and nice to browse through.

Thank Albert S

Service was pretty good but the food terrible. Bread bun around burger was inedible and like a rock cake. The cheese was hard and stuck to the bread bun so it was inedible too. Chips were not hot. Went out instead of eating it. Spent £60.00 + in the centre shop and was charged 5p for a PAPER bag to carry it to our car in. What a rip off. Pleased I don't live near this place.
