Had not tried for a while so decided to give a go. Despite the fact it was a pleasant summers evening it was not busy told we would have to wait for 30 minutes for service. The staff really did not care. If this was some fancy restaurant would not have minded but you could hear the ping of the microwave. They will want my custom when winter arrives and they are even quieter but dont think I shall bother

Just got back from a horrendous meal. After waiting for 50 minutes on a very quiet Tuesday evening we were eventually served our meals.. one of which was an adequate portion of ribs with some overdone chips and brown bit of lettuce on the side, the other was a Chicken Laksa... however a laksa is a coconut noodle soup... except the laksa we recieved was some dry noodles in the middle of a bowl.. no liquid at all and a handfull of broken pieces of prawn cracker from the bottom of a bag... I was so shocked I asked the waitress if she could check to see if the soup was seperate.. she came back...this is how its served here, end of.. went to manager who agreed it looked like a 40p bag of super noodles...I asked for a different meal... another 30 minutes and some more ribs showed up, not much better and this time we had coleslaw instead of brown lettuce but it was warm!... two for one is no excuse for serving in-edible food! My biggest complaint though was no one apologised, no one came to check if we were ok, no offer of a drink while we waited... food is poor, wait time is poor, staff are friendly but clearly have no customer service training, kitchen is obviously horrendously managed.. would not return! shame as we live local... i dont know why they dont look at all these reveiws and do something about it! shame on a Marstons pub!

My partner took me here for my birthday as we had stayed here previously and had a lovely large room over looking the sea and had had a fantastic time. This time we had the four poster room which was spacious with a lovely bed, settee and fantastic view. I love this hotel and would go there again. The only down side that we have found about this hotel is that the staff are grumpy. cheap to eat here but don't expect service with a smile. Both times that we have stayed the staff have been miserable and this is truly the only down side we have found to our stay here.

Room tip: Ask for a room overlooking the seafront they are large airy and cheerful.

I stayed here for my hen do last weekend and we had a brilliant time. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. We found the hotel warm but we are in the middle of a heat wave so we'll let them off! The location is excellent within walking distance of the beach and other attractions. We would all (10 of us!) stay here again.

Room tip: Most rooms have a sea view

Visited WSM for a day out, ended up at marstons to find an empty resteraunt when ordering food the unfriendly bar girls were very rude in telling us there was a 40 min wait! The poor food runner was on his own, however did feel for the manager hopping round on crutches, why is he still working??? Clearly the company don't care of the health of there managment team! Tbh the food was nice but not worth the wait!
