On arrival the weekend manageress treated us like something she had just trodden in. I feel she would be better suited as a guard dog rather than front line personal.
The room we had was called a flat but in reality it was a family room with a microwave and a fridge in,you would not of kept your dirty underwear in them let alone use them to keep and cook food in.
One of the single beds had no support in the base so when you sat on it you nearly touched the floor,The bed linen was not the cleanest in the world. The bathroom was refurbished when the hotel was built in the 1900's, the floor tiles were cracked and could cut bare feet if not careful, shower enclosure was not clean with black grout.
The best thing was that when we opened the window to let in some nice fresh air the window pain fell out.
On departure after waiting for the lady in front to air her dissatisfaction the Rottweiler turned to me and demanded that I had something to tell her(so I did)
The only good thing about this hotel is the breakfast.
I hope this helps other holiday makers
kind regards Steve

There's a very mixed bag of reviews on this hotel. We (as a group of friends - all couples) have stayed here before so we knew what we were getting. It's difficult to know what people expect from a hotel that is, I believe quite cheap, in a prime location on the front.
The staff are friendly, including the receptionist, and they can't do enough for you.
For the record they don't need to supply complimentary toiletries due to the star rating, plus, surely if you're going away you wouldn't rely on someone else providing you with soap!
We stayed in Room 112, which had a lovely comfy double bed with balcony view over the green and the sea.
It was clean and tidy, and considering we were only sleeping in it, can't see what more you could want from a room? ..... as for the breakfast, there is plenty of choice, including cereals and juices, not sure why anything else would be needed.
Anyway, we, as a group have stayed there twice and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Room Tip: Our friends stayed in Rooms 105, 112, 113, 114, 115 - which all had the balconies overlooking the gr...

This was a late minute booking for a night away in Weston Super Mare - as soon as we walked in we knew it a mistake. Don't believe there is on site car parking, well there is only for 12 cars, so you have no option but to pay £10 a night for overnight car parking somewhere close by. The room "sold" as a double but was nothing more than a large single. There was no bedside table for one lamp which was on the floor. The other bedside table was badly chipped / split on the edge. Dusty skirting boards, cracked toilet bowl, cracked tiles in the shower cubicle which in itself was a joke - tiny wasn't the word and really poor water pressure and lack of hot water. If you wanted to use the shower you would have to walk in sideways. The welcome tray wasn't very "welcoming". The shaving light above the sink had been replaced but a gapping hole left there. Stains on the carpet and curtains. When we came back after our evening meal out no light working in the room. There was a "used" razor left on top of the bathroom shelf - no "hospitality" toiletries, tissues or alarm clock radio in the room. The hair drier fixed to the wall by a mirror but you would have to be over 5' 5" to be able to see into the mirror to be able to dry your hair. Guess it was a tall man that put that mirror on the wall! There was one on the back of the door, but would the lead have been long enough to get to it. The management state the hotel has been under going refurbishment since ownership in 1999 - well clearly room 104 must have been overlooked it was dire, shabby, dingy & dirty. There was no forms for guests to leave their comments. Noisy guests toing and froing & coming in at some unearthly hour waking up one and all and then continuing to be noisy once in their room. The afternoon we checked in there was a Rod Stewart tribute act on - so loud that you couldn't hear what the receptionist was telling u (she was not the friendliest) and when we wanted to go out later that afternoon - we couldn't get through the "fire exit" door as a guests had moved and were sitting in chairs blocking the fire exit.

The "hotel" was conveniently located to the Grand Pier close by and all other amenities.

The "ladies" in the breakfast room helpful and friendly - however, you felt you were in a regimented dining area all seated all on top of one another (something like the old dining halls back in the days of holiday camps). There was a lack of cereal available no fresh fruit or yoghurts. The sausages lacked flavour and "tinned" tomatoes and no mushrooms to accompany the breakfast.

General impressions that the management are wanting to fill the hotel and take paying guests hard earnt money without reinvestment in the hotel which in itself really needs TLC, or if they have reinvested seems to be very minimal. First impressions count so when you arrive, with having no where to park there is loads of rubbish, (looked like a building site) and guests standing outside smoking that you have to walk past.

Room Tip: Don't book at all and if you do avoid 104 with your life.

This was our first stay here, we arrived without a booking during our weeks tour by motorcycle and by chance they had one twin room free for me and my mate. The room was clean and comfy as was the bed and Nicky on the front desk was very accomodating, the breakfast was good and we would certainly stay there again.

It was a surprise present for my 70th birthday and we were lucky to be given a lovely family room with a side view of the sea and pier , unfortunately on the top floor! But view worth it . I was ok with the , but because my wife gets claustrophobic she used 4 flights but very quirky and difficult to work out !!! The staf were all very helpfull and friendly . The room was clean wth soap and no shower gel etc . Clean towels each day with a comfy bed .
Breakfast was buffet style served by the staff it was adequate but not exceptional - tinned tomatoes and soft toast with no skimmed milk for cereals .

Room Tip: Could be noisy over bar and outdoor seating.

After reading some previous reviews was a bit nervous about our planned five night break but what a surprise. The receptionist was most helpful, well done Linda. Lovely clean room, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Only noise we heard was people on their way to the rooms. PS must agree the shower was a bit under powered.
