Reviewed 4 March 2014

This is a lovely little hotel, very welcoming with spotless rooms, very fast wifi, with a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning, good value for money and it close to all amenities, lovely walked in the evening to the pier.

we stayed for three nights and we could not fault this lovely guest house. Roy and Margaret very friendly. We had a lovely room, and the breakfasts were superb. Would certainly recommend. The guest house is very close to pubs, bars and restaurants. If we visit Weston Super Mare again we would definitely stay again. Jayne and Monty Katchick.

Stayed for one night in a double en-suite which was clean and tidy with a kettle and tea and coffee, towels with a little welcome chocolate.the area is a little run down but quiet, near the marina we could just see the sea from our room, there is parking behind the hotel at a cost of £5.50 for 24 hrs ( please note take change as doesn't take notes!).We arrived early and our room was ready so able to leave our things and go of for the day. Approx 5/10 min walk to town with lots of pubs etc on the way there was a children's park on the way with a water play area in it.Breakfast was good had jug of milk and juice on the table ready my only complaint would be how long it took just to get asked if we wanted a cup of tea (10mins I timed it) ! The breakfast was good and enough of it with cereals and toast before hand if need,Margaret was welcoming and friendly and would definitely stay here again.

Have just spent 2 nights here and myself and my wife are extremely happy with our stay.Pre stay e-mailed responses to our questions and requests were prompt and curtious. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Margaret who checked us in and gave us the run down of the amenities of the Lugano. The room(superior double on the ground floor) was spotless and light and airy. The en suite was small but well laid out with towels and soaps etc supplied.A tray with kettle, coffee, milk, tea etc was on the bedside cabinet and was replenished during our stay.Breakfast was a choice of full English, vegetarian or childrens. Not a huge selection but add that to the cereal, toast, tea, coffee and fruit juice and I believe it is ample.During the service we were checked on regularly to ensure all was well and if we wanted more of anything which was nice. The attentiveness struck just the right balance between our privacy and our needs so we felt comfortable enough to ask for things without feeling pestered. The breakfast was of very good quality and well cooked. The place was fully booked during our stay but it was quiet and gave off a family vibe.An assistance bell was in the hallway and of the two or three times we used it was answered very quickly.I think The Lugano hits a sweet spot between value and quality. The room rate was competitive and everything was of a good standard. It took us around two minutes to walk from the guesthouse to the sea front opposite the marine lake so feel it is ideally situated to be close enough to town for holiday fun but far enough away for peace and quiet.I cant recommend this highly enough. You can tell the proprietors work very hard on their product and they are as much a credit to their profession as The Lugano is to Weston Super mare. If I was pressed on the matter and wanted to split hairs then maybe I could say the tv may be a bit small, but I dont personally go away to watch tv,anyway the free WiFi is very good so I would use that and a pad/laptop if I needed to.Refilling the kettle is an art as it only just fits in the sink to fill it,but again its so petty to me I dont really mind. The weather during our stay was very hot so aircon would have been nice ,but again the opened windows did their job ,also a small fridge to chill drinks for a hot evening woud have been handy but I have a feeling if I had asked I could have stored some drinks in their fridge for a while.None of these points are a negative to me but in a review other peoples perceptions count. We woud have no hesitation in booking again or recommending this little gem of a guesthouse to anyone.

Room Tip: room 0ne is ground floor if you cant handle stairs.
