“wouldn't go back”
Reviewed 5 September 2011

i went down as meeting my kids the next day as they had been away with their dad for a week, i had just had an op so went night before so could have a rest.
i was in a single room backing onto the restaurant and bar so you can imagine i didn't get any rest on the Sat night (it sounded like it was kareoke coming through the walls). it did finish about 11 so it wasn't too bad but i was just looking forward to watching tv and having some piece. It said it was sea views i got the back yard!
The next morning i didn't get a lie in as again backed onto the restaurant so had all the breakfast noise, then the bottles being thrown into the bottle bank (right outside my room)
Breakfast was tiny (i don't like baked beans or black pudding so didn't want them) i had 1 piece of bacon, 1 sausage, 1 tomato and 1 egg! You would think they would have substituted the beans and black pudding but no!
The shower was freezing and i had it turned up to the hottest point. The room itself was comfy and tiny though, so there was 1 good point1
Using the public loos a member of staff (waitress) was in there who came out the loos and went out without washing hands (my 9 year old daughter pointed this out, if she knew this was wrong, then hygiene is not good there!)

Room Tip: do not go in a single room they think you are out partying all night!

Booked online one night in a seaview room. When we arrived we were asked to pay before seeing room. Room was at the back of hotel, above kitchen. Room was clean, new bathroom with badly fitting door that got stuck. Good location but noisy on a Saturday night, would've been even noisier in a seaview room. Good breakfast and good service at breakfast. Not recommended.

I suppose we shouldn't have stayed at a hotel where you have to pay when you arrive. Poor room, although it was clean at least, very expensive for what it was. It wasn't worth half the cost.

The hotel is well situated on the sea front; my room was good and comfortable. Not a huge amount of character but I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: You may be better off at the back, away from any noise.

Stopped at this hotel for 2 nights, it is in a great location and the rooms are a good size and clean. The only bit that lets this hotel down is the staff ( not all of them i might add ). I found the receptionist to be rude and abrupt not at all what i would expect from a hotel receptionist ( personally i feel if you dont like the job dont do it, I think its time for a change). The room maids could not speak english and did not even acknowledge you or even speak to you ( which i thought was very rude) apart from a maid i came across on the hall, i think she was the only english one there but she was fantastic i think her name was june or somthing like that but very helpful. Now onto the resturant i cannot believe that you can hear the chef shouting in the kitchen, this is worse than gordan ramsey ( and not what people want to hear when eating ) and one final thing i was outside having a drink and it took an hour for them to collect my dirty glass. Like i said the hotel and location is great, i just think that there are a few people that need to get the sack.

Thank you for your review I am pleased to see you found the rooms to be up to a good standard,
I do apologise on behalf of the hotel reference the staff and I would be grateful if you could let us have the date and time that you checked into the hotel so that we can find out which staff were working so the issue of staff rudeness can be addressed.

stayed here for 2 knights at £150 we thought this was reasonable when booked it online, this was not including breakfast which really should have been included we think,,,,,,
the staff were really helpful and worked hard all day none stop .
the management completely different kettle of fish alltogether, they don,t speak and have little or nothing to do with any of there customers witch we found to be very rude ,
the room was basic but clean ,the car park is very small and have to be lucky to find a parking space,,, the next time we decide to go to weston super mare we will give this hotel a miss....................................

Having just read your review I thought I should respond,
Firstly thank you for your lovely comments on our staff, I am however a little worried about the comment on the management as we like to think all our staff and management are friendly and helpful, so I would be very grateful if you could let us know (by email if you prefer) the name or description of the person you are referring to so that we can address the matter.
As for the car park as a seafront hotel parking is very limited with many of the hotels having no parking at all, I do apologise as it is on our listing as free parking and this is being changed as we do only offer parking for approx 10 cars with the option then of the public car park 2 minutes walk from the hotel.
