Just returned from a Mon-Fri break at this hotel with a party of people from North Wales. The hotel is clean & warm, food good & staff very friendly. Ann gave us all a cup of free tea or coffee on arrival while the boys took our cases to our rooms. We then gave in our evening meal order & went to un-pack. The girls waiting on tables range from English, Polish, Greek & Estonian & all do their job pleasantly. The hotel has been having a refurb over winter, our bathroom was all new & very clean with plenty of towels & toiletries, even had a non-slip mat for the bath & there were lots of coat hangers, all good quality wood ones, not a wire one in site !!! There was also entertainment on all 4 nights. I wouldn,t hesitate to use this hotel again & would recommend it to friends looking for good service.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have a balcony over-looking the prom & pier but may be a little small for som...

18 of us stayed here for the New Year 3 night break. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The staff were excellent with a special mention to Merlinder and Aaron, who both worked very hard to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were very clean. Food was good. Entertainment was good. Our room had a wooden Venetian blind and two curtains that were full and fitted properly across the window when drawn. Our room was warm and comfortable. Would definitely visit again.

Whereas teptably clean, he room was very comfortable, quite attractive, and acceptably clean, there was one day of my stay it was not serviced. Well heated also.

However the menus was very dated, with little choice in my opinion. Cheeses were served in wrapped portions, as was the jam for rice pudding. The dining room was so cramped that table service was very poor, the waiting on staff unable to wait on in the expected manner. The visitors did much passing plates up and down tables, and I found this and the fact I was asked to shout my order accross the room unacceptable. There was another dining room, yet it was unused, and where other hotels stagger the servings between different groups to aid service, Smiths did not.

In my opinion, although the staff were friendly and hardworking, they did not show any clearing skills, nor etiquette. Shame.

Have just returned from Smiths hotel after taking a party of elderly people (25 plus 5 helpers) on a 5 day T & T holiday. We stayed at Smiths as the original hotel we were due to stay at had been overbooked. I have to say that the welcome and service we received from all the staff was excellent. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs and when we asked for a room change for 2 of our party this was done with a minimum of fuss. All rooms we were allocated were spotlessly clean and well maintained. Food, in particular breakfasts were very good and served quickly and efficiently. Entertainment for all 4 nights too. Would definitely use the hotel again.
