“Easter weekend”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

Booked rooms for husband and myself also my brother and sister in law,we were greeted by Andrew and was given rooms 1 and 2 which were good size rooms with beautiful sea views and a balcony. Very clean lovely comfortable bed, liked the lay out of my room, plenty of space, everything you need was on hand Iron hair dryer and even a trouser press. When we went down for breakfast on the Sunday morning we all had an Easter chocolate on our table, what a lovely thoughtful thing to do. Breakfast was lovely nothing too much trouble for the waitresses. Would definitely stay there again and would want the same room. One of the best hotels that we have stayed in also it was so peaceful and quiet. Pauline

Room Tip: 1&2 because they are at the front of the hotel and they have a balcony with fantastic views

I booked this at the last minute with almost no research, and on the whole it was a good choice. The hotel was quite tricky to find in the maze of roads up the hill, and parking was even worse, but I got there in the end, and received a cool but polite welcome and was helped to my nice sized room (no. 1 on the first floor) with my case. I was worried when I found the windows didn't open, but the door to the balcony did, and the views were lovely - straight out to the pier and the beach to the front, and to Steep Holm island and the direction of the marine lake from the bay window in the corner of the room.

I had an extremely comfortable night, and breakfast was lovely. The only real problem was the bathroom. The decor was dated, which isn't such a disaster, but there was a sunken bath with a shower over, and no shower curtain, which I thought was rather strange, and resulted in a flooded bathroom which I did my best to mop up. Now I know where it is, I would definitely stay there again, and I would ask for the same room again - even if the bathroom isn't updated, so it can't have been that bad!

Just returned from a couple of days in Weston Super Mare, stayed at the Queenswood Hotel, a little gem, it lived up to all the recent reviews on trip advisor. Very welcoming, lovely room (no 24), loved the way this room was laid out, an amazing bathroom. Breakfast was served in a lovely way with attention to detail. Cooked fresh. Hotel spotless, staff on hand to help with any questions. Will definitely be going back. Only downside was the parking in the street but no real problem.

The Hotel has been kept up to date and well decorated. Breakfasts are godd with friendly staff. It is worth booking a sea view room. Our room was small on the side of the Hotel (a wash basin in the bedroom, as the en-suite was not big enough), but adequate for two nights.
parking could be an issue in busy times

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are bigger and brighter

Ended up here after abandoning our previous choice (Beachlands) because it was so awful.
Queenswood on the other hand is set back in a quiet spot away from the front though our room had a nice sea view which was great. The room was not large but was spotlessly clean & well equipped. The Tea & Coffee facilities were good quality not "own brand" so often used in smaller hotels.
Bathroom was fine, nice linen on the most comfy bed. Breakfast was good & service too.
Altogether a pleasant night spent here.

I was driving to Plymouth, knackered and it was after 11pm, so found the Queenswood on spec and they had a room free.
So I was grateful to find somewhere but then pleasantly surprised by a few things.
The reception chap offered a reduced rate as I didn't need breakfast (I planned to leave before 6am). He also offered tips on getting out of town the next day too. By this time it was 11.30pm,
The room was really comfy, the bed comfy too and covered in quality materials and nicely "dressed".
So a bit of luck actually found a nice room, stylishly done up.
A few squeaky floor boards, but give me that over yet another square-box corporate hotel any day!
