“Disapointed”
Reviewed 11 August 2012

We arrived at camellia lodge expecting good things after reading the reviews. We found the hallway to be very cluttered and untidy. The whole place seemed very dark. The shower was dreadful, the water trickled out and the water went from cold to scorching hot ( complained but was told by the owners it was fine). The room as the whole b&b was very clean. The breakfast room is very cramped. You have to share a table with strangers which can leave you feeling very uncomfortable. We had 4 nights bookes but only stayed for 1. We asked for a refund but was told she was running a business and was unable to refund the money.
Overall I did not feel at all welcome.

Bernadette made us feel very welcome at the Camellia Lodge. Stayed for 2 nights last week, spotless, the most comfortable gigantic bed I have ever slept in. Breakfasts to die for, If she could have made the weather better for us , I'm sure she would, Would definitely reccommend

Lovely B&B, would def use again. Room was small but adequate, with ensuite shower room, freeview, wifi and tea and coffee facilities. Both room and ensuite were immaculate, and bed was comfy. It's a short walk away from the beach, and a 10 minute walk from the city centre. Would definitely use again, and would recommend to anyone staying in Weston.

Firstly coming from Birmingham to weston after a days work Bernadette was very understanding and accepted that we might have been a little late then usual checking in.
Arriving at the lodge the outside is a little cramped surrounded by scafholdings, but the front garden was very pretty with a small bench and flowers surrounding.
when entering the lodge we was greeted by a warm smile and an enthusiastic woman who instantly made me and my partner very welcome, payment was not demanded up front as she was very understanding about our long journey she insisted we pay in the morning after a good nights sleep.
we got led up to our room on the top floor (3 stores high) , on entering our room we were shown around , also given a quick tutorial on how things worked ,ie - tv , bath , kettle etc.

Breakfast was amazing eggs were properly cooked , sausages were organic and bacon was perfect. there was no limit to the amount of breakfast you could eat , with yogurts , cereal , fruit , tea , coffee , toast, a great start to the morning.

Our room was very very clean with nice fresh smells , and a nice big bed , when it got cold radiator warmed up the room fast , if it did get cold you have an extra radiator in the main wardrobe to plug in.
there was always fresh towles , hairdryer , nice complimentries in the room.
This was a very homely stay , even on the day of checkout we were able to keep our bags in the b&b whilst we went out and come back later on in the day to collect them.
3*AA hotel says it all really.

The only thing i can fault is the fact when we went out the owner openly admitted coming into our room even though we had our tag on, but she did clean up :).

Highly recommend , go n her actual website for prices as that doesn't charge like late rooms and book.com
£30 pp per night for a family room (double bed and a single) with breakfast was outstanding for its price , if i would f phoned earlier might of got a normal room but was last minute,
Definitely ask for room 3 if you stop.

A 2min walk to beach
A 2 min walk to tesco's / co-oprative

Keep up the work camellia lodge.

Scott and Emma.

Room Tip: Room 3. top floor , hardly any traffic and very spacious.

The hotel was clean, the staff very helpful and friendly and rooms had a good selection of facilities, including a tutorial on how to work a television by the owner which was interesting and informative. Not sure about the Garlic Air Freshers that they appeared to have been using around the place, but as me and my party survived our night without being attacked by vampires, I can only assume the smell was a preventative measure.

We and our dog Rosey could not have been made more welcome. Room was comfortable, tidy, clean and with everything we could need. Breakfast was far too good and did not help my diet at all :) Handy for beaches and city centre. Rosey really loved it and wants to go back.

We had both of our dogs with us on our vist and they were welcomed as much as we were. The room was very clean and the guest house was close to the centre. You are even allowed to leave the dogs in the room while you nip out, as long as they are well behaved and quiet needless to say we stayed in :) . Would definitely re-book, breakfast was massive and too good the be left.
