“Port in a Storm”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

Having been let down by a hotel nearby who couldn't be bothered to turn up to let us in, my colleague and I retired to the nearest bar, Cabot, to search the Net for some accommodation for the night. It was eight o'clock on a very cold and snowy evening and the first hotel we found with vacancies was Cabot Court.
We booked online and went straight to the reception where we were met by a very cheery and friendly receptionist who was a little confused to see us as she thought no one else was due to book in.
"Not a problem" she says and efficiently checked us in and pointed us to our rooms and also, more importantly, to the connecting door to the bar!!
The rooms were very spacious with a large bay window giving a view over the beach and sea.
The bed was very comfortable with pillows and quilt that one could snuggle into for a very comfortable nights sleep.
Breakfast in the morning is in the adjoining pub and with a 20% discount voucher turned out to be a very substantial (and inexpensive) start to the day.
I will be back in Weston in the next few weeks and will have no hesitation in booking into the Cabot with the confidence that I will have an extremely pleasant stay. Thanks to all the staff who we encountered.

Room Tip: Room 209 has excellent sea views but don't ask for this room if you are a light sleeper due to t...

Sadly we only spent one night at the Cabot Court Hotel, we were very impressed with the
high standard of the rooms. The bottles of mineral water were a nice little extra, as were the
biscuits. The hotel and our room was spotlessly clean. I cannot praise the staff highly enough,
the ladies in reception were very friendly as were the bar staff in the pub. Excellent, we will
be booking the Cabot Court again.

We only stayed one night but were very impressed with staff, room and Weatherspoon bar prices. The room, 105, had a magnificent view of the beach and restored pier and even the tide was in! The restaurant menu was a little restricted but represented very good value for money. It was only after ordering that we realized the Thursday night is Curry Night, which was very popular.

Have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel and my wife and I were most impressed.
The building has been renovated to a very high standard.
The room, (105), had great views of the beach and pier. The decor and facilities were first class.
The restraunt area is extensive and split over several floors and as a result, we had no trouble findig good tables.
The food was very good and very cheap, as were the drinks. (Bottles of decent Shiraz were only £4.95).
The staff were all very friendly and helpfull.
We will be staying at this hotel again.

Room Tip: We stayed in 105 which was excellent.

The hotel is a well renovated victorian building with some rooms such as ours, 203, having great views over the pier and sea. Free mineral water was a nice touch. We did not have any soap in the dispensers in the bathroom on arrival which was annoying but rectified day 2 after leaving a note for the room cleaner. After I asked for extra coffee sachets because we ran out the first evening they were very generous topping these up.

The only issue we had was that the bar downstairs, as it was mid Dec, was full of Xmas parties which meant it was over crowded in the evening but this was a function of the time of year rather than a fault of the hotel. We ceratinly never heard any bar noise in our room, only noisy guests (briefly) coming in one night from a party somewhere.

Room Tip: Speak to reception when reserving and ask for advice. We did and got an excellent room. being an o...

We stayed in a family room and were very impressed by the plush decor and friendly efficient service.
You get 20% discount on the breakfast if you choose to eat in the pub which is good.
Parking is difficult if you want to keep costs down, we parked on a road called "Ellenborough park road north" (there is also Ellenborough park road south parallel to you can also park on) which is just off the seafront and about 10/15mins walk from the hotel. There are usually spaces here in the evenings.
The only negative is that our room (204), whilst having a lovely view of the pier is directly above the outside seated part of the bar. Only one of these tables was occupied at about 11pm and we could hear them clearly so this maybe tricky during the weekends in the Summer if you need to get to bed early Or maybe you need to be the people outside drinking on these tables!

Room Tip: avoid a room above the outdoor seated area in the Summer

My husband and I stayed at the Cabot, with another couple, at the beginning of November. The weather was appalling with gales and rain but it was sunny inside the Cabot. The many lounges and bars meant that it was never too crowded and the open fire in the large lounge made it very warm indeed. The food was decent and cheap and the beer, according to the lads, was good. The rooms were clean and spacious and it was a delight to have a proper ensuite rather than the usual 'cupboard' at some B&B's. Another visit will probably be on the calender next year.

Room Tip: We had a standard roon at the side of the hotel but it was ok and we could still see the beach.
