Great hotel. It's in a great location right on the waterfront, the staff are friendly, the rooms are large, modern and clean, there is a restuarant downstairs and the price is very reasonable. Only downside is that there isn't much parking, we needed to park in the shopping centre car park for £10 for 24 hours.

We stayed for 2 nights, 10th and 11th may 2013, we stayed in the suite- room 302, very well equipped bedrooms, both had double bed, dressing table, chair, wardrobe, kettle with tea, coffee, milk, sugar and a selection of biscuits, lovely views of the beach and grand pier from windows, was clean and spacious, shower gel and hand wash provided. We ate downstairs at breakfast times and in the evenings, the first evening was very busy but the food was great even though we ended being sat in a dark dingy area, the second evening was not so good, two meals had to be sent back- steak was very undercooked on one meal even though we asked for it well done, the other meal was the gourmet chicken burger- the bun was as hard as rock and the food was cold, a very apologetic lady approached our table and informed us that our replacement meals would be with us ASAP, she also gave our two children icecream and chocolate brownie and asked if we would like tea or coffee free of charge, it was just nice to get the apologie so the extras were a nice touch. Weather wasn't very good but the hotel made up for it, good hotel and good staff, would stay again.

Wow! Such beautifully appointed rooms which were spotlessly clean. I booked on line, which was an easy task. We had a warm welcome on arrival. The hotel is central and well appointed. It has great art from local school children as well as various Fawlty Towers photos to add a touch of humour - don't worry, it is not because the service is bad but because John Cleese is a native of the town. This hotel is part of the Whetherspoons chain and, as such, there is a connecting door to the pub where you can purchase very reasonably priced food and gain access to the free wifi. Alas, we were staying over a bank holiday weekend and the place was packed. This meant that the food was, perhaps, not up to its usual standard and my fish was over cooked. It was also a little noisy outside, and I was disturbed by bottles being emptied and passing pedestrians. My only other gripe is that the cost of parking, at 12 pounds for 24 hours in a neighbouring hotel car park, was a bit dear. On the whole, though, the price of just over £70 was very reasonable for a huge double bedroom that was just as good as a London five star establishment.
