Stayed here for a night in July..warm welcome on reception and checked in quickly, very polite and friendly and gave us voucher for discount on breakfast in the morning!
Great place to stay on the beach front with lovely views of the beach and close to everything!
Breakfast in the pub next morning was lovely as we sat upstairs with the doors open and a wonderful view of the beach, on a beautiful sunny morning, and was very good value for money.
The room was quite small but had everything we needed. It was clean, decorated beautifully and very little noise at all..slept well! The photographs do not do the hotel justice,as it is much better than it looks!
Would definitely stay again.

this is the jewel in the crown of jd wetherspoons, haveing been to many of the pubs and also stopping in some of their hotels i have to say this is by far the best i have been to,the location is great with lovely views from the bars and lounges we loved the decor and the little touches, great terrace and garden to, our room was very clean and comfy with plenty of tea and coffee, bottles of water to,the only downside was the view was of the aircon units on the roof of the pub,and it was very hot in their but a fan had been provided, now i should mark it down for this as this wasnot a good view but i will not why? well the staff all of them that we came in contact were excellent, friendley and with a cando attiude they kept the whole place clean and tidy to,all the meals we had were tasty and good value so thanks to the kitchen staff to, i must mention the young lady who checked us in on the 22july(pm) who is absolutely charming and helpful,to sum up excellent ,i am sure if tim martin was to pop in on one of his visits he wood be as inpressed as we were .

Room Tip: if you stay on fri/sat night their is a disco so noise maybe a problem, shame really this shouldnot b...

Having stayed in Spoons hotels before we were not surprised to have a good welcome - in fact it was very enthusiastic. The amusingly tight lift ( 4 people max 320kg) spluttered and jolted but reached the second floor (eventually) and our room 206 had superb beach views: an excellent wedding anniversary stay. The colossal bed was slightly wider than a king size: very clean and well stocked room - even a full set of tea and coffee. I noted the eight milks all turned at precisely the same angle..I did read somewhere that someone objected to the green light in the alarm thingy but I only eventually noticed this. I knew there was a Cider festival and really this is my only gripe: at all three of the Spoons on this coastal stretch I visited not a single manager had grasped that the Cider festival leaflets might be stored adjacent to the stock, AND by far the most important point, a total of 15 clients were left peering at a distance trying to work out which of the 25 ciders were actually available. It does NOT take the brains of a rocket scientist to print off' font 72 size Numbers and stick them to the casks.
So at Burnham, Weymouth, Poole and here at Weston the same size gathering of people were trying to work out which was which. You may think this was a trivial point and it perhaps is - because the double room rate of £45 was outstanding & the main consideration. I have in fact just booked to return at the same rate at the end of October.
A genuine downside of this excellent hotel was outside the rear Hotel entrance: in fact it was the main booking in zone. Outside the wheelie bin area was messy and smelly, and needed a good wash down and a little disinfectant. The Wetherspoon food was as usual very good indeed

Room Tip: 206 was admirable but there must be others with a pleasant view and decent sea breeze

Dear R N,
We are happy to see you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back in October. We have passed on your suggestion about the cider festival to our own pub and those in our area and hopefully during the next cider festival you will see an improvement in that area. We are also sorry about the bins, we do get very busy and despite a collection 3 x a week they can become very full an w know an eyesore. Lots of options have been considered and when we have the right one hopefully something will be put in place.

We stayed in a hotel near by which was poor for food. As a great fan of Wetherspoons pubs, this one must be the best. The staff very busy but still polite and smiling.Duty managers on the ball and run a tight ship, regarding crew.
Food was excellent and quickly served. Steaks 14oz Aberdeen Angus perfect and also the Curry night very tasty. I am now back at Gosport and straight into my local The Crown Fareham for the fish and chips yummy. Next week on holiday at Leeds,Harrogate and York so you know where I will be for beer and food.
Keep up the good work!

My boyfriend and I went to this pub on sat 12th for an early drink. I live in weston but rarely go to pubs. My boyfriend thought it a good idea to have dinner there I was not so keen. But we did eat there. Both of us had sirloin steak which came with the usual trimmings plus a free drink. I am not the easiest person to please eating out I do like reasonably good food that is not straight from the microwave. This is difficult for many pubs I have found. This was not the case here ,I had the best steak I have had out for a very long time. My boyfriend said the same the whole meal was delicious . I was very surprised by this as my expectations were not high . So much did we enjoy our meal we found ourselves there again Sunday lunch time for a drink and light lunch which was very good too. The staff were all great and on the ball .I recently had lunch along the sea front at Tutto's restaurant it was a disaster don't bother go to Cabot instead. Much better and not a rip off. I will definitely eat here more often.

Despite not expecting very much in Weston-Super-Mare (seen better days) we found this to be a great hotel in terms of accommodation, position, food, drinks and friendly staff. While parking was not ideal (close by paid), we would recommend this hotel to all types of travellers. Only negative was the extremely bright fire detector in the room - you could almost read by it!

Room Tip: We were told on checkout (?) that room 209 is the one to have!
