We decided at short notice to visit weston super mare and found this great hotel, well placed for everything and great value for money.
Owner and staff are very friendly and made our stay a wonderful one.
The play park and splash mat opposite the hotel make it a great place to stay with children.
Will definitely go back and hope we get such gr

Arrived late on Saturday (3/5/14) quick and efficient check in by owner John and shown to our family room (Room 5) consisting of double bed and bunk beds. Beds were clean and comfortable. Room a little small but adequate for our needs. Bathroom with bath & Shower also clean and all in working order. Balcony with wonderful seas views and views of the promenade. Tea & coffee making facilities and tv (although a fully refundable £20 deposit for the remote is requested upon check in) Well stocked bar on site and comfortable sitting areas both inside and out. Breakfast served from 8am with a choice of cereal, fruit juices and hot food. English breakfast we couldn't fault at all....all well cooked and hot with tea/coffee upon request. Close to the centre of W-S-M with all the bars, shops and amenities and the pier (although be warned you do now have to pay £1 per person to walk up the new pier!) All in all a very pleasant stay and would have no problem with staying here again and happy to recommend.

Was actually shocked how good it was. Couldn't fault it all! Great service and location. Was even given a bacon sandwich for my travels, despite missing breakfast. Very good value for money. If your going to Weston supermare then this is the place to stay. Make me fall back in love with B&B's again!

We wanted a reasonably priced hotel for an overnight stay in Weston Super Mare as we wanted to meet up with family from Worcester and pass on Easter eggs. We settled for the £70 a night (incl. full breakfast) Richmond Hotel.

The Richmond is well placed - maybe 75 yards across a great kids park to the sea front. It is at the Marine Lake end of the main beach.

We had a problem with parking. The hotel has none, and the cul-de-sac road in front of it was full all the time we were there. The car park over the road was recommended, but this costs at least £10 per day. We opted for 4 hours and then have a look around. (When we came back after 4 hours, there was still nowhere to park by the hotel.)

We arrived a little early for the 2pm check in, but were cheerfully greeted and the overnight bag was carried up the stairs to our room (no.7). There is a lift for those who find stairs difficult.

The décor in the public areas is a little chintzy - patterned brown carpets and artexed walls, but they were clean and tidy.

The room was a little strange, with a 1980s (70s?) coffee and cream theme. One depressingly brown wall. The same brown carpets. Retro room lights and shades. Blown vinyl wallpaper. On the other hand, the bed was comfortable; there was a flat-screen LED TV with Freeview channels; there were tea and coffee making facilities (no biscuits) and soap (no other toiletries. An iron and board too. You couldn't walk round the bed as it was up against a wall so that what was really a double room could accommodate a third bed. Double glazed windows and a modern radiator. The view was overlooking the hotel garden at the rear.

The en-suite bathroom was modern and functional. Fully tiled with a large shower enclosure. No bath, as advertised, but very acceptable.

The advertised wi-fi in all rooms was unusable in room 7 due to the weakness of the signal.

We were, almost unbelievably in this day and age, asked for a £20 deposit for the TV remote due to previous ones being stolen. Why would anyone take a remote which is highly unlikely to work with their own TV? And when you can get mobile phone apps to act as TV remotes?

The bar was open and well stocked on our only night here.

Breakfast was beautifully cooked everything fresh and good quality. Would've been nice to have a few mushrooms, but no one could really complain. Cereals, fruit juice, a choice of tea or coffee, a choice of cooked breakfasts incl. a veggie option, toast and preserves (with extra toast or coffee if required).

Our hosts were very pleasant people too and they happily refunded my £20 on departure.

Shame about the parking, the brown colour theme and the remote deposit, but a comfortable enough stay all the same.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a sea view

We had a three day break mid March 14, we had our Mother with us who is disabled, and our Jack Russel dog, two of the reasons we booked this hotel - they have a lift and they welcome dogs. Parking - we arrived at 3pm and although parking is limited the owner, Jonathan, spotted a space outside the hotel and 'guarded' it for us until we fetched our car from further down the road.
We had a room with a view and balcony. Great location. Great staff. Great breakfast.
Jonathan could not do enough, he was very helpful and especially nice to Mum :)

Stayed here for one night during the hot spell in March. Found the bed a little hard, the breakfast was excellent. We had the family room as we had requested twin beds. Whilst the room was clean and the bed linen spotless the room was quite dark and the bathroom had quite a bit of mould on the grout work. However, the owner called Jonathan was very helpful and was continually asking if everything was OK. The hotel does have a small but pleasant bar. Difficult to park but if you are lucky there is parking in the road outside the hotel. Otherwise it costs £10 a day to park in the nearby car park. You are close to everything that is going on and right behind a grassy children's play area.

Room Tip: Friendly and helpful owner.

This hotel is very clean and tidy my room was spotless and cleaned perfectly everyday. Most rooms have a wonderful view of the sea front. I enjoyed eating looking out over the sea even though the weather was terrible. There is a nice quiet bar if you want to avoid all the noise of the high street. Johnathan the owner will bend over backwards to make sure you have a good stay. I will defiantly stay here again if I'm working in the area it's much better than others I've experienced in Weston super mare.

Room Tip: Call johnathan direct for sea view room and best price
