Absolutely first class and excellent value for money. we will definitely stay here again. it was a chance booking but we will be booking again. The staff were superb ,the meals were excellent and the rooms were spotless. Everything you could ask for in a hotel.

Room Tip: Room 23 adjacent to gardens and rear car park.

We stayed at the hotel between the 12th and 14th October for my birthday. The check in was easy and the lady was very friendly and welcoming. The room was big and spacious (27). There was a double bed and single bed which came in handy as the double bed was rather small. To the eye the room appeared clean but the toilet seat was dirty at the bottom, this didn't bother my partner but I didn't like it!, personal preference I guess! The bed also had hairs on it...yuck! The sink plug also didn't work. I think the hotel just need to think about these extra touches as they are good hotel and the cleanliness is a disappointment. The hotel has a pool which is a lovely touch and one of the reasons we stayed there. However, the pool generator is very loud and on 24/7 which makes it difficult to get to sleep. The rooms have Wifi but this is extremely slow and has a temperamental connection which is rather annoying. The electrics are also not brilliant as the lights constantly flicker but you get used to this. The breakfast is lovely, we enjoyed the sausages! The hotel parking is very good as there are lots of spaces. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms near to the pool as the generator is loud!

We had our Golden Wedding Anniversary back in June which was the most wonderful night with all the family and wonderful food and wine. The service by the staff was absolutely perfect. We could not fault anything. Finally completed our golden wedding today 15th october2013 with family from Australia. Many thanks to Charles and all his staff who have been wonderful at both events David and Anne Hodgson

Room Tip: We are local and did not stay as it was our anniversary party only.

We stayed for two nights. It is perfectly located for the RHL beach race. We ate in the restaurant on the first night. The service and good was excellent. The lounge areas were comfortable with a good range of magazines. Our room was comfortable and clean. The friendliness of the staff was very welcome with all the staff bring locally employed so they were knowledgeable about the area. This was a refreshing change and nice to be understood by the editing staff. The breakfast was fab too! Highly recommended if I was to go back to the area I would definitely stay here again.

Pleasantly situated in Uphill close to the beach. Car parking on site. Rooms clean and comfortable with a good en-suite and power shower. I booked Sunday lunch on the day of our arrival and it was just acceptable and below par for a hotel of this standard. There was a supplement of £2.50 for sirloin beef which was just 2 slices of beef representing poor value for money. Vegetables were small in portion and peas were still in water in the serving dish. Only roast potatoes were available and had been kept warm for too long.

Stayed here, recently for four nights, using it as a base for a visit to Somerset. A little disappointed to find that it was a fairly long walk into town added to the fact that all parking in WSM had an 80p per hour charge until 10pm. [ Excellent work by the council to attract people in...........but not the hotel's fault!!]
Had a lovely room in the Lawn House - recently refurbished - but, again disappointed both with the water pressure and temperature.
Lovely staff and clearly they were there to please.
Breakfasts were excellent and the "buffet" was plentiful.
Clearly the hotel in this day and age tries to cater for everyone and welcome weddings, anniversaries, parties etc. The downside to this is that it became a little chaotic at the weekend and as the hotel was busy, there seemed to be too few staff. On one morning we waited 20 minutes at our table for our coffee etc. order to be taken.
Plenty of room to sit in the lounge areas and the bar was well-stocked.
There is a pool and a sauna and I found this area of the hotel a little "tired!" Changing facilities need upgrading and the whole building could benefit from a little TLC.
On the whole we had a pleasant stay but may question the reasons why the hotel is ranked 2nd in Weston-Super-Mare.
Finally the Wi-Fi is somewhat erratic but management were very apologetic and were trying their utmost to improve matters.

A pleasure to stay here. Nothing too much trouble. Comfortable lounge with newspapers and free wifi - very important! Dinner and Shiraz very good, and breakfast too, if rather early (finishes 9.30am weekdays, 10.15 Saturdays). Bedroom spacious and quiet.
