“Dont Go.....absolute tip.....worst hotel....ever !!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2008

You really dont want to stay in this place, we went as a family party of 16 and it was the worst experience ever.

Absolutely filthy, windows cracked, curtain rails hanging off the walls, holes in the walls stuck with mismatched wallpaper, springs coming through in the beds, terrible en.suite facilities and the plumbing, a long with the macerator toilets, made the most awful noise all night long. You would'nt even consider stepping in the shower.
We wrote to complain and we were offered 20% discount on a future stay there!!! NEVER AGAIN.

I booked the Lynton House for myself and my husband. When we arrived earlier than the stated check in time, the manageress - Jen - couldn't have been nicer. She showed us where we could leave our luggage, checked us in and even made us a pot of tea whilst the room was finished by the housekeepers.

The room itself was a a bit small but nice and clean and it smelled fresh. The linen was all pristine, the towels fluffy and soap provided. The bathroom could have done with updating but after a few minutes the shower was nice and hot and to be honest what do you expect for £25 a night?

The breakfast we had was lovely and all the staff couldn't have done more for us.

The only grumble I could of had was that there was no evening entertainment but i suppose this was because they only had a handful of guests due to it being winter.

I would stay again next time we visit weston.

i was dreading staying at this hotel after seeing the previous reports and i have to say that it was not as bad as i thought.
The hotel could do with a makeover but the bedrooms are clean and the bedding was fresh and comfortable. The manager James Earl could not do enough to make you feel welcome and made sure al the guests are happy.

On the down side I found the food could have been better as I am a vegetarian and the only option for two of the three nights we stayed was cheese salad.

I feel some earlier reviews are a bit harsh. What you have to remember is this is Bed and Breakfast for £25, and I think very good value for money considering the near central location. Yes the carpets could do with a clean etc. but the beds are clean and the rooms have a TV and tea/coffee tray. Will definitely stay again, I usually use the Premier Travel Inn in WSM but that means a taxi to and from the centre so the Lynton House is more convenient, and breakfast is included (which I didn't go for but it's nice to have the option). In summary, if you want a 5 star hotel, stay in a 5 star hotel and pay 5 star money. If you want value for money, this is it.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and that was 2 nights too long. We were on a group trip of over 80 people and everyone of us was dissatisfied with the hotel. Everthing about the place was disgusting. The place was filthy throughout, carpets were not hoovered and were badly stained, mirrors and windows were filthy, bath had a greasy scum-like feel to it. The noise from the extractor fan in bathroom (activated by the light switch) was so unbearable that washing had to done in the dark. Food was very poor, in fact one sausage that my wife had served up at breakfast looked raw. On our final morning we discovered that the matress on our bed had a large blood stain on it. Tolilets were in definite need of parazone tablets.
I can safely say that I will never return to this hotel again and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

The room we had was grubby, carpet was filthy, paintwork was yellow and chipped....shower waste pipe was blocked and the water kept coming back up...breakfast was served on hot plates and the food was cold, would never stay there again, the entire place inside and out needs a complete re-vamp
