I booked in last minute just for the weekend, it was cheap and if I'm honest I expected it to be a bit of a dive but I was pleasantly suprised, it's an old hotel with character, it was clean, right on the sea front and the staff were all lovely, next time I'm back in Weston this will be where I stay

We found it to be a nice clean hotel, and situated right on the front. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good (breakfast and evening meal) we booked half board. Incredible value for the price. Our room was small, a single really with a double bed, but the bed was comfy and there was everything you could really want. Including plenty of hot water in the needed shower, (it was very hot that week). The room was at the front of the Hotel and had a great sea view, and that more than compensated for the size. We would certainly go back, and noticed many of the guests were repeat visitors. Because of the parking problem the hotel have a deal with a local NCP £2 for twenty four hours, good value, and very handy.

Room Tip: try to get a sea view

Just returned from a 4 night stay here with my frail elderly parents - and clearly this is a time of year when they have many elderly guests. Our rooms were in the refurbished part of the hotel and were excellent - nicely decorated, very clean and with nice comfortable beds. The food in the restaurant was plentiful and the menu offered enough choice for my sometimes picky father to always find something he liked. It was clear too that some of the dishes were homemade, which was nice, however the vegetables were a bit overcooked for my taste.

What really makes this hotel though is the staff, and I can not praise them enough. Not only were each and every one of them cheerful, welcoming and helpful but, throughout our time there, I witnessed many small kindnesses and considerations towards their many elderly guests. I must also give special thanks to Nicky in the restaurant, who made every mealtime special!

Areas of the hotel do need refurbishing, and the lift is a challenge to say the least. However, what counted for me were the staff, who made it a very special stay for my parents.

Room Tip: The receptionists were very happy to discuss room options before arrival, and I would recommend this...

This is probably the most bitterseet review I've written.

Stayed for 2 nights and, never having been to Weston-super-Mare, didn't realize how closely the Sandringham matches the town: old, mostly behind the times, but with a multitude of charms not often found.

First, the negatives: An old lift akin to a freight elevator where two gates must be closed upon exit or it's essentially useless. Leaving stairs that go up and down for no reason, and no continuous staircase from top to bottom. Postage-stamp sized single room with no place to open a suitcase. No air-conditioning (or screen if you open the window) or in-room internet.

But the place is a beautiful relic of an older time, with first-rate service, food and atmosphere. The pub has local (and good) entertainment at night, interrupted by bingo! The service (Karen) and camaraderie in the dining room is first-class as well. And there's a lovely lounge (where the internet works fine).

Finally, you can't beat the location, right across from the Grand Pier and an easy walk to shopping and restaurants. And great views of the very gently sloping beach where the tide seems to go about half-a-mile.

Not sure if I'd stay again, but it was an unusual respite, and a time to be fondly remembered.

Room Tip: There are a few downstairs rooms where you don't have to worry about the lift.

We stayed at the Sandringham 27th and 28th June. We were there for the air show. Having stayed at the Sandringham before we knew what to expect. The Hotel is basic but very nice and the food is very good too. We were disappointed at the lack of entertainment. Last time we stayed there it was winter but both nights had entertainment on. However this time there was none. When we asked why we were told its because everyone went out at night, there were quite a few elderly people there who i'm sure didn't go out. If the hotel had put entertainment on people would have stayed. As it was we had to go to another Hotel both nights for entertainment. Very disappointed and will not stay there again.

We stayed here with our group - People with Parkinson's, their partners and friends, on a coach holiday from Sunday 22nd June to Friday 27th June. All I can say is....we had a great time.
The hotel was clean and tidy, the staff we ABSOLUTELY fantastic.......the waiting staff were so brilliant, couldn't have done any more for us than they did. The food was plentiful and varied, and very tasty.
Our room had a good view overlooking the crazy golf, and we could see the sea and Grand Pier. The room was very clean, the furniture was comfortable, and our en-suite was clean, with a lovely shower.
On our day of departure, all the waiting staff came out to wave us off....which was really lovely, never had that before from the hotels we have stayed in as a group in the past.
Thank You to ALL the staff at The Sandringham....we hope we will be able to come again.

Room Tip: No swimming pool or fitness centre, so hence the terrible !!!!
