I would like to say comfy room and bed had a good nights sleep, shower room, no bath but pleased to have an ensuite. This hotel was good value for what we paid cooked breakfast and cereals toast tea or coffee and juices. A lovely sea view from room and breakfast room, staff were busy but friendly. There was a fan in room but opened the window wide and was fine it can get hot in there.
We would stay again and some lovely places to eat and drink and the small shopping centre a few arcades.
On the downside got here early 2pm was sent away they dont have their own car park, so we drove to town and went back and got a free space! Young guy at desk nice, old tiny lift. Needs decorating this place some damp visible but for 1 night was fine. You can park for £6 down the road if you have to. The Pier closes at 8pm not much going on then we are not big drinkers there are pubs a small arcade and restaraunts no evening boat trips!

Room Tip: Had a room with sea view very quiet, had a very old fan- no air con! Arrived 1 hour hour early was a...

In this day and age you expect more from a hotel, the tv come from the 90's with 5 channels. The kettle was an argos value and the two cups in the room didn't even match!! It was also so hot in the room with no air con or fan overall I've a stayed in much better for a lot less £££

We stayed for just one night. Hotel is in a good position about a fifteen minutes walk from town centre but a nice stroll along the front. Our room was on the first floor and we had a sea view. Rooms are large and have very high ceilings. Decor is very dated and fits in with the victorian image but just a tad on the shabby side. The TV was like something out of the ark and the remote control was fortunately my boyfriend lol. The bathroom was again dated and in need of decoration but the shower over the bath was surprisingly good. We found it quite noisy and were woken several times in the night by loud guests and a broken fire door on the landing next to our room. Breakfast was very good, nicely laid out and nicely presented. Reading a previous review on here which said breakfast was from 7 am to 8.30 am I was quite glad to find that it didnt actually end until 9.30.

This is a very friendly hotel indeed.Decor a little dated, tiny bathroom, stained carpet in room and no tv as stated in broucher however one was brought to our room as soon as we told them.I think the staff are pushed to the limit at times, had to wait at the bar for ages as barman was also booking people in at reception. The breakfast was very good I really couldn't find fault with it! The one big disappointment was our door and the one next to our room rattled all night so we didn't get much sleep also water not very hot when showering. For the price we paid it was ok and I would stay again as long as the doors were fixed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view otherwise view not good

We stayed here for one night as a stop over at the start of June. The hotel itself was obviously magnificent in it's day, with a prime position on the sea front. Our room had a lovely sea view and a balcony to sit on, which was great. The thing that saddened me was the state of disrepair that the hotel was in. With a little bit of TLC they could be charging twice as much a night for a room. Having said that, the room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very polite. The breakfast was a typical seaside hotel breakfast, full english served on a plate. The only self service aspect was the cereals. I have to say that I was very pleased that they served me with gluten free bread, which few hotels stock even now. Overall a pleasant enough stay, but this hotel could be so much more than it currently is.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms with a balcony are best.

Although the hotel might not be 3/4 star standard the welcome, service and friendliness makes up for any short fall in splendour.

From the moment we walked through the front door with a very warm welcome from the manager, the welcome was given throughout all the staff from bar, restaurant to even the maids doing the bedroom, everyone had a smile on thier faces and seemed very happy to be there.

Food was excellent, beer cold and service was great. Our waitress Alison has a lovely smile and makes you want to be happy too. All the staff work extremly hard along with the manager who seemed to be there all day every day from breakfast to dinner, to serving in the bar afterwards, what a great bunch.

Well done everyone and we will be back

Room Tip: Try to book a sea view room, great views

Having read previous reviews I was not anticipating a great time at this hotel, but am glad to say having just returned yesterday I can say my friends and I had a 'lovely stay'. Although the outside entrance is off-putting due to refurbishment needed, the welcome makes up for it. The staff were really pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble at meal times ie extra toast, extra gravy and although we spoke to the manager about fresh potatoes on the last day we should have requested them earlier. Our room was a sea-view on the second floor with comfortable beds and a bath with a very efficient shower over. The towels were white and spotless and plentiful very hot water. All-In-all our stay was lovely, even the weather was better than forecast. Thank You to all the staff, and also to our driver Paul of Henshaw's Travel.
