I stayed in the hotel for the week end with my border collie Jenson and my wife Maud. We were very impressed by the way the owners bent over backwards to make our stay both memorable and comfortable. As a dog owner one is always worried about just how welcome one will be but as soon as I learnt that the owners Rupert and Rhonda owned three dogs I knew that the welcome would be sincere and it was. Nothing was too much trouble and we spent an enjoyable few days exploring the area and walking our own dog. The food was superb and I particularly appreciated the attention to detail observed by the publican who gave me a tour of his cellar as soon as I expressed an interest in the local brews which were marvellous. Turning to the rooms we stayed in the bridal suite which was tastefully furnished with a double poster bed. Our bathroom had recently been refurbished to a very high standard which I must say was a surprise given that we were in a very remote part of Wales and almost expected something a bit more basic. We would recommend this hotel to keen walkers who are keen to get away from it all
