“Beautiful cottage in picturesque surroundings.”
Reviewed 6 July 2018 for a stay in June 2018

We couldn’t believe how this cottage has such a low review rating . The location is quite isolated and peaceful and therefore ideal as a relaxing retreat to get away from the stresses of everyday life. There is a perfect little garden just opposite the cottage where we spent our mornings having breakfast and endless cups of tea. The cottage itself is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need . The landlord is a cabinet maker and there is evidence of this around the cottage . Much of the furniture is hand crafted by the cottage owner. Just up the hill is a very pretty spot by the stream where we spent time walking and sketching the scenery. Previous posts have mentioned noise from the adjoining cottage but we heard none , only the sounds of the birds and nature to keep us company. Matthew and Alison couldn’t have been more helpful and even brought us some freshly laid eggs for breakfast ! We would definitely come and stay here again !

This property is lovely, especially all the hand-made furniture and finishings. A warm & cozy cottage in a wonderful peaceful location...until the adjoining property played music, drums & two types of guitar from morning till night . A good job we went out every day to visit the sights of North Wales, so we only had to put up with this in the evenings!

Management Response

Bwthyn Bach (Bluebell Cottage) is an end of terrace cottage that has been with the current owner since 1998. In nine years of lets, however, this is the first complaint that has been received about noise disturbance from next door.

As with most terraced properties, noise can travel through party walls, and the current neighbour is a recording musician. The owner has recently spent six months living in the cottage and has reached an understanding with the neighbouring property that sound will be kept to a minimum, and controlled when there are tenants scheduled to stay.

The owner would like to apologise for the disturbance caused to the reviewer, and was only sorry that it was not raised during the visit so that it could have been rectified immediately.

“Safety”
Reviewed 12 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Shower over narrow bath but sideways on meaning of you stepped backwards you could very easily fall over the side of the bath and hit your head on the toilet. No non slip surface or mat nor grab rail to hold onto. Downstairs cloakroom door opens outward directly into the path of the front door, this is windowless so if both doors were opened at the same time? Only one door to the outside so if a fire broke out?? The oil fired boiler is adjacent to the only door to outside. A quite high entry step to the property which if you are not 100% agile could be a problem. No main light in the kitchen just small spotlights. Reversing onto or off of the property needs care as blind corners.

Bluebell Cottage is a lovely period property which has been in our portfolio for many years. The Cottage welcomes guests all year round, many of whom are return visitors. Reviews from our guests are very positive, and there has never been any cause for concern regarding any aspect of safety expressed in this review.

“Wow, what a gorgeous cottage.”

I stayed here last year as well as this year. This is a beautiful cottage which is fresh and fairly newly decorated with the added luxury of a wood burning stove. Also the best equiped kitchen I have ever been in in a rented cottage with the added bonus of a wee welcome pack when you arrive. It is just outside Llanrwst and appears to be in a wee valley of its own. It's very quiet and relaxing with little or no traffic and has a lovely little "sit-ooterie" for drinkies after a hard day being a tourist. I know I sound like the owner but I'm not. It's just the most wonderful and relaxing rental I've been in in years.
