Having stayed for a long weekend in Richmond every month in the last 5 months on a training course, this is the first time we stayed at the Richmond Hill Hotel, mainly because we got a very good deal when booking. It is by far the best we have stayed in so far and the location perfect. Breakfast has a great choice of hot and cold buffet, we ate in the restaurant on our first night and it was very good. Room very nice. the staff were excellent and very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I would like to give this hotel 3.5 stars if I had the option.
First the good bits...
The hotel ground has a spectacular view overlooking the River Thames and the Richmond Park. The view is truly amazing, and it is about 15 minute walk up the hill from the Richmond centre. The hotel has a nice gym and swimming pool, Jacuzzi, and sauna facilities that hotel guests have access to for free. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of good quality fruit, yogurt, pastries, bread, and cooked English breakfast.
Not so good bits...
We stayed in a standard double room and the room size was really really small, and there was hardly any room for us to move about after our luggage. Our room did not have a nice view, as it overlooked a parking lot in the back of the hotel. The hallway seems quite dated. For the price and the hotel's 4-star status, I think the room size, decor, and the hallway could be better. The hotel charges parking for 5 pounds a day to guests, and if you stay for one night, you have to pay two days' worth of the parking.

Myself and my husband was looking for a deal at a price to suit our budget for a 2 night stay near London so we can access all the tourist locations in central London. After looking at hostels and £150 easy hotel rooms with no windows not inc any food I felt completely defeatest that we would ever find anywhere that lived up to what we required.

We required a snapshot of luxury for a short break away to unwind after 6 months from hell. Location was perfect, an easy tube ride with one quick hop off and hop on change to central London or any zone 1 stations. Hotel was only 10-15 min slow walk to station and a taxi due to luggage cost around £5.60-7 which the hotel organised with no hassle at just an ask and a posh taxi delivering you to the station was an added bonus.

We found a travelzoo deal for this hotel which we could use during school holidays (requirement) fantastic deal for 2 nights in a superior double room 2 mornings breakfast and 1 evening meal which consisted any 2 courses off the menu. Well the food was esqusite, fine dining. I don't understand how anyone can write a bad review about it tbh. Every need attended to but not over fussed, relaxed atmosphere and nothing was a problem even when I got soda with my white wine spritzer rather than the preferred lemonade. It was not any trouble at all to change it even though I didn't specify which 'spritzer' I would like. Drinks were on the pricy side but I'm a northerner and this is London after all.

Staff was attentive and friendly, greeting you even when you just pass the reception. Resteraunt staff give a personal service remembering you and asking how your evening meal was, nice to be asked. Paid the £3.50 tray charge in cash, to have breakfast in bed. Not only was all my selections provided but much much more added extras.

Room was very nice, small but had a lovely bed, TV and all hotel facilities (hairdryer, ironing board and iron etc) lovely interiors and bedding. Didn't use the balcony but the air con was a great extra as husband is always moaning he's hot at nighttime. The room was cleaned, clean towels provided etc. The only criticism I can give of the whole stay is that the bathroom is small and not of a standard possibly of the rest of the hotel and bedrooms but it was clean and did its job.

Fantastic stay just what the doctor ordered!!!

Just a short walk from the station the hotel has fantastic views over the Thames - meaning it is great for walks along the river or a walk around Richmond park. The leisure facilitates are great and the service and room standards are fab too. A perfect relaxing weekend after a long week!

Stayed here when in the area for a wedding and had a lovely weekend.
Staff were friendly and helpful and there was a nice atmosphere to the hotel.
Room itself was rather small, but adequate for 2 people. Bathroom clean and shower powerful.
Ate in the bar on the first evening and found it generally good value for money, breakfast both mornings was excellent with a massive choice of hot and cold foods.

We stayed on a Friday night before continuing our trip walking the Capital Ring the following day. Looking at other reviews, we obviously did well not to arrive during a busy time - everything worked very efficiently for us. We've tried other hotels in Richmond and this suited our purpose the best - relatively cheap and efficient with no frills we didn't want to pay for. Upgraded to an executive room, recently refurbed, clean, spacious and well-equipped, we had a quiet night's sleep. Breakfast is efficient, no waiting around. It's a lovely walk down the hill to the river to continue your hike if that's what you're doing. If you don't fancy the dining options, try the Roebuck pub nearby for reasonable pub grub. I wouldn't stay here for a special occasion but it worked for us as a decent night's stay at a good price. £110 B&B, not too bad for this expensive part of town.

Room Tip: Executive room is spacious and ours was quiet at the back of the hotel

Considering its proximity to central London and Heathrow airport this hotel is surprisingly quiet and relaxing. Great views across Twickenham and south London. Walking distance from Richmond centre and rail station. Our room was comfortable and well equipped. Bathroom was OK but perhaps a little overdue for a refit.

Room Tip: Best views are to the front, but so is Heathrow airport.
