We received a very warm welcome at the hotel from all the staff. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The facilities were super and the garden beautiful - specially on a sunny afternoon. The hotel is very convenient to Richmond centre, with good links to central London and the river Thames.

Arrived yesterday at the Hotel for girlie stay and had a great time. After an initial wait for one of our rooms, the Manager gave us a complimentary bottle of wine whilst we waited in the garden. The garden was surprisingly quiet considering the fairly busy road outside. The hotel has a lovely homely feel about it and our two twin bedded rooms were comfortable and well equipped. We relaxed round the pool during the afternoon and sat in the garden enjoying the warm weather. After a stroll to the local pub for dinner we rounded off the evening in the hotel bar until the early hours. The bar staff were great, no hassle and served great coffee with large cookies. Breakfast this morning was served in the conservatory giving a nice cosy atmosphere, and check out was very quick. All in all the food was lovely, and the staff very nice and helpful. We all said we would go back to Richmond and stay there again.

Room Tip: We had rooms on the second and third floors over looking the garden. Those on the first floor were s...

Having been given this "luxury spa break with 3course dinner/breakfast, a luxury room upgrade and a spa treatment each" as a wedding present, we were looking forward to a relaxing break. We arrived early not expecting our room to be ready but when we were still waiting after 2:30 with no sign of anything happening and our spa day slipping away we asked if we could just put our case in the room and prepare to go to the spa for our treatments. This was accommodated and after dragging our case up 5 flights of stairs we had no complaints about the room.
Off to the spa then, only to arrive at what seemed like the local leisure centre with the hydro pool out of order and the main pool lanes off for swimming lessons, hardly a relaxing spa area!!!! We then went to the treatment area only to be told we had no booking, we were offered bookings for the next day but could not do this as my husband was due in hospital the following day.
Dinner was very good however a bit embarrassed when we were told we had a 2 course meal and had to show our confirmation to the waitress in front of other diners.
To top everything when we got up the next morning we had no water and couldn't even flush the loo before leaving. We checked out without breakfast to come home to shower and clean our teeth !!,,, Never again !!!!!!!!!!

We have been spending New Year's -staying 2-3 nights- at the Richmond Gate Hotel; we love Richmond and its surroundings! The hotel provides small but picturesque rooms & excellent English breakfast! The bar and the reception service is just above average, but we shall keep visiting this hotel every year during Christmas/NY's, mainly for its atmosphere and its location!

Room Tip: Try to get a corner suite with the magnificent view to the river!

Hotel is well located 10 minutes walk from the station on a hill in a smart area of Richmond. However, there were a number of problems with the hotel, and the overall interior was tired. Beds were hard, bath had no tap to switch from shower function, air con was noisy, and reception was low key with no one seeming to be in charge. Breakfast was 6/10. Overall 3 star quality and we paid over £200 a room for three rooms due to high demand due to a local flower show. This was not good value.

Thank you for your recent review. I was very sorry to read that you described your stay with us as “Great location, but not good value”. I must apologise that you felt the standard of room that you were allocated was not to the standard expected and that there were a number of short falls. Whilst the duty manager is not always based at the front desk I wish to assure you that if you had asked for assistance and made them aware of any of the short falls you have identified they would have endeavoured to provide an alternative room or at the very least rectify the problems described.
It is only through comments such as those you have made that we are able to improve our standard and service.
Thank you once again for your feedback

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at the Richmond Gate Hotel recently. The whole team at the hotel were excellent, offering us great support and advice in the planning of our big day and ensuring that everything went smoothly. The choice of rooms for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception were perfect for the size of our group, with the option to use the private garden a particular highlight. The food was excellent throughout the day, and we opted for the BBQ in the evening which appeared to be well received by all our guests.

All in all, a really excellent experience. A very big thank you to Nick, Paco and all the team.

Staying at this hotel was a treat! I was staying here for a few days and then found I needed to extend my stay. The front of desk staff in particular Daniel and George were extremely helpful by not only allowing me to keep the same great room but also giving me a very good rate, even though the hotel was nearing being fully booked.
The breakfast was perfect and other staff very polite also.
I would definitely recommend this hotel whilst in Richmond for whatever purpose of your stay, business or for an event.
