Thought the sun would shine in Richmond but it didn't so herself and I adjourned here. A lovely local bitter and a nice glass of wine

Went in for a drink on a cold Saturday afternoon . In Richmond for the weekend. Good crowd inside couples and small groups, some chatting, some watching the rugby, some eating. We didn't eat but looked at the menu as all the meals looked very taste. The make your own sausage sandwich seemed very popular. Spent a very enjoyable 2 hours inside before we had to gat the bus home. Will definitely pop in again when we return to Richmond e

I met friends here on Thursday 17th October 2013. We were going to go and eat at a French restaurant up the road, but decided to stay at the Old Ship. Great real ale, great red wine, great food and a warm and friendly welcome

My office colleagues and I drop by this pub one evening had had dinner there. The meals were average but actually ok for a pub. It's about a five minute walk from the nearest tube station.

The staff were friendly and helpful as well. There's TVs in the main bar and at that time they were showing soccer which was a good thing for one of our office mates as he's a soccer fan.

There are a lot of bad, generic, soulless pubs out there, but for a respite from shopping in the lovely environs of Richmond? It hits the spot.

I'm not a fan of Sky TV and its monopoly of LIVE SPORTS in pubs, but, The Old Ship has character, polite staff, is a great location, serves excellent Bloody Marys (fresh horseradish!) and the sausage sharing platter is a tasty bargain.

Grab a tall table by the window and watch the world go by (round the one-way system).
