For the price it is a very comfortable basic place to stay. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and they even left us a pint of fresh milk in the room fridge for our breakfast which we really appreciated. The staff were also very helpful when I had a couple of queries. You have your own entrance to the accommodation and we really could not fault it.

Room Tip: Room 3 is quite small - not sure if others are larger. But we still had 2 decent single beds in the...

We booked a room here for a couple of nights as we needed to be within easy driving distance of Richmond Park. It is very well situated with the main shopping area of Richmond and the river only 5 - 10 minutes' walk away. We booked on-street parking in advance, but this had not been dealt with before our arrival, however the helpful bar staff were quick to sort this out, so we didn't have to wait too long. (It might have been easier for all if we had been told where to park beforehand, and then sorted details out afterwards.) Our room was of a good size with an extremely comfortable and large bed and good sized shower room. Their rooms are advertised as 'boutique', but I think they miss the mark here. Despite the fabulous bed, the rest of the decor felt a bit like granny's spare bedroom, and the mustard coloured walls just wrong! Our main bugbear was that our room was not cleaned, nor was the continental breakfast replenished for our second morning (this is stored in the fridge). Again, helpful bar staff (not really sure who was in charge of the hotel side of things) sorted out our breakfast, which could have been bettered with perhaps some ham and cheese as well as cereal, yoghurt and croissants on offer. A bit more tlc for both room and customer would have earned the Red Cow a four or five rating. Great bar and outside seating area, though!

Stayed here with 2 old school friends on a reunion weekend. Room was comfortable and ideally located within easy walking distance of the railway and the river so we could walk to Twickenham along the river path. We had 3 comfortable single beds and a fridge which contained breakfast. Main issue for me it that it was a hot weekend and so we needed the window open which meant I could hear planes flying pass every 5 minutes day and night - which I am not used to, living in peaceful Cornwall!! So if you are not used to noise would recommend going when it's cooler or taking ear plugs!! Food was not available as it was a weekend, but this was not a problem for us as we planned to meet up with others in a nearby Italian - the management were helpful in advising us where we could eat nearby. this was a bargain for a place to lay one's head in the London area and would recommend it for what it does do for the price and convenience.

Red Cow is on of Richmond's hidden gems as it is away from the river and town centre. A Young's pub but always has special's on which recently have been Twickenham Ales which are great.

Kitchen is being refurbished in July so no food at the moment.

Has TV's which show sport but they don't dominate the pub.

Stayed here with my husband for one night during the Wimbledon championships (4 Jul). Check in was easy and despite there being a mistake with my booking (completely my fault....beware using booking.com) the manager sorted it quickly and it wasn't an issue, he also sorted our parking online for nearby street parking which was £6.60, a bargain I'd say for 24 hours. We arrived before the midday check in time so left our bags there for the day. Bags were carried up to the room for us when we arrived back in the evening and we were given the tour of the place. Whilst our room (3) was very small it wasn't an issue for us it being just a place to sleep. The bed was comfy and the room decorated nicely with a flat screen tv on the wall. Breakfast is stored in the fridge in your room and is nothing special but you can get a discount on breakfast at the cafe across the road if you show your room key and it was delicious! Major drawback was the lack of air con in the room and having the windows open made it very noisy even at night. Not really a problem for me as I sleep through most things but take some earplugs if you are a light sleeper! Also bear in mind it's above a pub so you have noise that goes along with that. I was pleased with the Red Cow and would probably stay again if needing accommodation in Richmond.

Three mums on a night away from the kids spent it in Richmond. The Red Cow was great, easy and quick check in, bags carried to the triple room, clean bathroom, bed OK, decent breakfast in fridge (which we nibbled on before we went to bed - its stored in the fridge so you can eat it when you want!). Music played til late and just below our room, but we enjoyed singing along!! Would recommend and will use again.

Room Tip: triple room - three single beds - ideal for three girlfriends on a night away

Stayed here as didn't want to stay in central London. Only a few rooms, perhaps 5. Got a bargin through Booking.com.Got all you should need as previous reviews have mentioned. Clean. Fidge has continental breakfast. Above pub so some noise is to be expected but found it not an issue except one morning at 6 the barrels of beer arrived and the rumble of the empty ones awoke my otherwise deep slumber. My favourite London brewery is " Youngs" and this being one of them pubs I was delighted. Although Richmond offers many establishments for a tipple this pub got a healthy hour or two out of me. A short walk from the rail and a bus to Q gardens. A walk by the river also an option if the sun is out. Staff friendly. Would not both looking elsewhere for accom as this has all you would need being one or two people. Loved my stay.
